XC thread.

Electric Cruise is just freaking adorable! So intense, with those lovely red ears pricked forward!

Frenchman Lionel Guyon is appealing his score, he says he took an option but was penalized for a run out…would like to have those 20 pts off his time…

Who is this gray? Keeps scaring me right and left! And the commentator is so tactful yet informative.

What a save through that water for belgum

Love Tim Ryan - “Trotting away sound as a bell!”[/QUOTE]

Yeah really enjoying listening to him.

“Home and dry”

“and now for a bath and a drink…”
which sounds wonderful for horses too

WHOA, what a save by that grey horse coming down the hill before the water…

Marc Rigouts (Belgium) isn’t having a good ride…

I’m concerned about this footing for the later riders. I hope they packed velcro to stick on the ground.

Slipping on course appears to be his issue.

“The one thing you really need on course here is brakes, and looks like his need realignment.” Love this commentator!

What an understatement!

“His brakes need realigning”. Classic!

Where can we send fan mail to this guy?

What a cool bio! I’m curious where he learned so much about equestrian sports though—he seems really knowledgeable.

As an aside…

THANK YOU EQUIDIA, the only TV channel that will show ALL of the olympic Equestrian competition.
(No, I am not affiliated with them in any way…I am just so thankful I can watch!)

Watching live feed (about 45 minutes behind) while the baby naps, then will catch up on the TV coverage tonight. Question: I see on here comments about a tarp on the Japanese horse that fell earlier… the internet commentator said, “Looks like both horse and rider are fine,” then went on. They ran commercials during the hold, then came back without ever saying what happened or exactly how long the hold had been. No more mention was made of the Japanese horse. What’s up with that? Was he ok?

Fingers crossed for the 3rd Japanese rider to have a clean go at it…seems to be cruising along pretty nicely so far

Really amazing he can comment so intelligently on this, to say nothing of the other major sports he’s done - tennis, boxing, and skiing in addition to all the major network sports.

I bet he’d be really interesting to have at the dinner table.

All I know (saw) was that after he fell, the Japanese horse was off in front, but he was up and walking. Seemed to be a bit better than the Belarus horse (who fell exactly the same way at the same fence and was vanned off also.)
