Xmas Panto Song and Costume Ideas

Hello!

The riding school I ride at has an annual Christmas panto, which I assumed would just be for the kids to take part in however my instructor told me today that she has chosen our lesson to represent her classes in the panto.

She has asked us for suggestions on a song we can do to do a little routine to, and we would dress up for it.

One of the other classes is doing Steps - 5, 6, 7, 8, another is doing the soundtrack to Frozen, dressing up as the characters, and another is doing I Want to Break Free - dressing up like in the video of course!

I can’t think of anything so was hoping you might have some suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Many of us in the U.S. are not really familiar with a “Panto”. Can you explain?

Hi Kestrel

A pantomine is basically a musical performance that is generally meant to be funny and has a bit of a storyline to it - we have them at christmas time although they are not necessarily christmas themed.

There will be a performance from some of the classes which will involve a story line, but our class will just do a small routine to music - a bit like a drill ride to music - so we need to pick a song and then dress up accordingly.

Hope that explains a bit better

Thank you, Wildthing, that does help. I will brainstorm…

Trans Sibirian Orchestra, First Snow, put on scarfs and hats, etc and recreate the fun mayhem of a snow day!

Crazy - but the lead male part is always taken by a female, and the ugly sisters part is always taken by two men…

In the past, I’ve taken a popular Christmas song (Rudolph, On top of old Smokey) and added our own words for Pony club skits.
