Ya think I can put my Rodney Powell vest in a front end loader with no agitator?

Cause it needs washed BAD.
I was all excited, thinking I was going be grown up and finally dis-assemble my vest and clean it.

nope, the foam is sewn in, in a few spots. And really shoved up into the shoulders tight.

well boo. The lilac portion of it is GROSS! Like it needs to be tied to a stake and washed Turner and Hooch style.

proper way to wash grossness–

and if you are of new generation and haven’t seen Turner and Hooch–great Tom Hanks movie. I recommend renting it. : )

I confess I spent a few minutes wondering why you wanted to carry your XC vest around with a tractor, ROFL.

I have an RP (although solid navy for that reason) and I think it would be ok, but I would probably put it in a bucket with some dish soap to soak and scrub first, might be less risky for the foam.

Omg I thought the same thing wildlifer, rofl

omg I had to go back and look at the title to figure out what you guys were talking about!!! soooo funny.

I scrubbed it with oxyclean gel in my sink…
then I stuck it in the washer on delicate.

It looks frig amazing! I haven’t seen it clean probably since the 1st time I wore it in 2010.

Love this vest BTW. It’s one of the older models, but my friend has the newer model and it’s amazing as well.

ordered right from the RP website the price is quite good and comparable to other vest prices. I think I paid about 200 for mine. Fully custom sizing + custom colors and design.

Sweet! You should at least hang it out to dry on the tractor bucket just to complete the plan. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I adore my RP too, about 45 seconds after I put it on and the foam warms, I forget it’s there!

No vests in washing machines. I may just have awful luck, but I put my beloved tipp through the washer once…and the washer attacked the foam (somehow got cause on rim of washer barrel during spin cycle) and ripped some of the covering plus burned a few places of the foam. Was fixable with a few patches and stitching, but it’s noticeable when I’m not wearing my pinney and would have been disastrous if I hadn’t heard the washer making a funny sound and stopped it. I now wash it in the bathtub or a bucket, by hand.
