I am trying to find a nice yearling size halter for a pony. Any favorites? It’s actually a gift, and I’d like to have a nameplate put on it. (So any brands I could have the nameplate pre- put on before it arrives would be helpful).
Thanks!
Lots of folks will recommend “Just for Ponies” as a good place for halters. http://www.justforponies.com/
Personally I didn’t find what I was looking for there as my welsh weanling and even my two year old welsh have heads that are so small, their halters looked bulky to me.
Quillin makes lovely halters (and I’ve gotten them there many times) - http://www.quillin.com/
I get all of my leather goods from Quillin Leather.

Their name plates are deeply engraved by hand which can be difficult to find these days. They are wonderful in the shop and have helped me order the appropriate size halter for foals of all ages. Beautiful halters!
This is a very nice halter for the money

I used to get Quillins for my horses, but I became superstitious about them so switched I was very suprised and pleased by the Smartpak halter. They are US made, not sure who makes them.
AH thanks! An old barn I workd for used to only order from Quillin, I’d forgotten them!
One of my barnmates got me this one when my new yearling arrived home: http://shop.olsonstack.com/Perri_s_1_Leather_Show_Halter_p/100.htm
The cob size fits him well when adjusted to just about as small as it will go, plus gives nice amount of room to grow into. She got him the black with stainless and it’s very pretty and nice quality as well.
Quillin, if you are unsure of size call Ralph and ask! He is also on FB.
