You asked for photos of Silver River SF and here they be.

Some of you asked about photos of Silver Springs State Forest on my last post about getting bck in the cart.

Art, afshire;;s hubby, rode with her and took photos. Understand there are horses and carts in the photos but you want to look at the scenery. We actually found a cliff that over looked the Silver River and found a real swamp for you all marvel at.

If the link does not work go to webshots and search for cartfall and all of my albums will come up. Go to the Silver Springs State Forest album and look for the cart shots. Enjoy

just lovely!

so funny, the landscape looks so warm and tropical yet you both are in long sweatshirts  funny to me as I was shoveling manure out of 18" of snow today, the temp hit 38° and I had to disrobe down to my tshirt to keep from sweating  totally dif latitude.

thanks so much for sharing. I can’t wait till our thaw then I too can get back in my cart. Your photos give me hope for spring!

Im never jealous that soandso when to suchandsuch show . . .
But I do lust after the many places people show where they drive

We’ve only really got the one Lebanon State Forest that has seemingly endless miles of track to drive in
(but its over two hours trailer ride to get there)
. . . And then many little parks limited to a couple miles (beautiful though they may be)

Thanks for sharing the pix

So pretty! The trails look lovely. And that moss and those palms – so warm and inviting. Thanks for sharing.

Gotta thank afshire;s hubby for the photos. They forwarded them to me and I just posted them for all to see.

Glad you enjoyed them so much. We had a great time. Took on a really tight trail–a challenge in some places. Lost the trail more than once. I had been on this trial where the swamp and river photos were taken. I had been telling Patti that there was this cliff and a river and no trail to be seen at one spot. yeah yeah she said and then we found it. Dang if it it was a real cliff (small but a sheer dropp off into swamp and river). Lost trail there too. Did some log jumping (I get out and let the boy pull the cart over the logs or lift if the log is a little big) and some bushwacking when we lost the trail. It is not a well known trail nor heavily travelled ont. But it was fun!!! Trees get kinda tight at times, but always managed to squeek through.

It’s interesting that you went back to it. I know some folks who rode through on Sunday. The ride leader said the paths were horrible for unshod horses, because of all the rocks. I didn’t think about that when we went–I was worried about the poor pony pulling my husband.
There’s also a trail nearby that has a seven mile stretch wide enough for a cart. Interested?

I don;t find the trail bad at all. My horses are unshod, although I do use boots occasionally. There are a few places where there are rocks but not an over abundance. This place is really one of the nicer places to drive.

Which trail are you talking about? If it is close enough, maybe so!!!
