Young Horse Raising

Looking for barn recommendations for young horse raising on the east coast (New England, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania area).

Ideal barn would have lots of turnout with other foals of similar age and handle the foals on a regular basis. Also would prefer a barn that regularly travels to breed shows.

Thank you in advance!

You can’t do any better than Hilltop Farm in my opinion.

I ditto Hilltop Farm in MD.

Rigbie Farm in MD.

Hilltop is awesome but tends to fill up with their own youngsters or those of outside mares bred to their stallions.

Send me a pm and I can give you other recommendations

Thanks all for the help. I had previously reached out to Hilltop and they are full. Please pass on any other farms you know of and trust

Paard Hill Farm/Denise Osborne in Manheim PA. My retired guy lives there, my current riding horse grew up there, and she does an amazing job raising babies. Dee has a few foals of her own most years, and I would not pick anywhere else to raise a little one. Not a super fancy place but plenty of turn out, reasonably priced, and the horses are all well behaved, sensible, and friendly.

I have had babies and my broodmare at Marion Farms in Lumberville NJ. They are a Standardbred breeding farm, but do take some sport horse mares and babies. Vets are Mid Atlantic Equine. manager is Linda Mullig. I have been happy with her care and management. pastures are lush, with run in sheds and horses look happy

Since we have re-located to SE Virginia and have more property we are offering this service now. Big fields, large sheds, quality nutrition program with individualized care and handling.

I do this in Frenchtown, New Jersey.
