Well, you will need a stream nearby.
How do you find this stuff???
My crack team of minions scours the internet.
That looks really neat. What a great idea.
Neat! And what a pretty location.
Those stream waters are very cold, even in the middle of the summer.
In Europe, we always washed our horse’s legs with water from the knees/hocks down after EVERY ride, for a few minutes, with cold water, even in the winter with snow around.
It was supposed to cool the horse and keep legs tight.
Now, we didn’t have a system like that, but just a plain hose we took turns with.
That would work fine too.
You would need hip waders as well- it looks as if you have to walk through the stream to get the horse in and out of there water pens!
It’s all good……until the horse poops in the stream.
I wonder, why pens, not just tie the horse to a post in there?
The surely don’t leave them very long, anyway.
Wow - what a good idea. Pity my creek isn’t deep enough and has that hot wire running down it to protect the trees from my horses.
Great idea! I just don’t want to be the person who has to wade out to get the horses.
We do the same sort of thing in Australia, except trainer just go down to the beach and stand in the surf ( ocean is freezing in South Australia coming off Antarctica). Trainers also train on the beach as well.
P.
I saw this on FB as well and thought it was a great idea too! I figure they’re in the pens so they can’t move around too much and risk slipping?
