2016 Breeder's Cup - all races :)

Arrogate 1 Chrome 2 Keen Ice 3

I’m surprised, I really thought CC had put him away then bam. Good race.

! Well, that was a hell of s stretch run.
WOOF, Arrogate(sp?)

Arrogate ran up chrome’s butt and passed him with, what, a quarter furlong to go?

WHO WON???
Arrogate nabs Chrome just before the line. The race we all wanted to see.
The rest were nowhere.

Arrogate is HUGE. He looks like a big lazy horse. This horse could be anything if they ever find the bottom of him.

Thanks! Glad to see Keen Ice in there, but I sure was hoping for a CC win. I’ll confess I’ve never even heard of that other horse.

Not the race I wanted to see. I was for CC.

I keep having to remind myself that that was only Arrogate’s 2nd ever stakes race. Two races ago he was running in AOC.
Jesus, what a monster.

DANG!! Almost got it! Nabbed at the wire.
Still a CC fan for life

Huge congrats to both teams for bringing their A game to this race!
What made it more impressive, was how fast & far CC & Arrogate pulled away from the rest of the crowd.

Maybe we’ll get lucky & Arrogate will be the next older horse to watch in the coming years(I have no idea if plans are to retire him or not).

Hopefully they aren’t going to retire him, he’s just getting started :stuck_out_tongue:

Speaking of retiring, I’m still bummed about Nyquist retiring already. I really liked him and was sad to see him fizzle after the Derby. Wish they would have given him the long lay off he clearly needed and tried for a four year old year…bet he would have been something as a mature horse.

Mike Smith said at the presentation that Arrogate was just lumbering along on the backstretch and he had to work a good 1/2 mile to let him find his stride. He’s going to be incredible once he figures it out.

Sad that Chrome lost (I fell to the floor and yelled NOOOOO at the wire like a true Chromie), but (very) reluctantly impressed with Arrogate. I’m guessing we’ll see both of them in the Pegasus. Arrogate is going to be something else as long as that big body stays healthy.

I’m going to go bury my feelings in some Netflix now.

Arrogate

Holy cow, Arrogate! Thought Chrome had it in the bag and then BAM Arrogate went by him in the last, what, 16th of a mile? What a race!

Bob Baffert said even he doubted Arrogate would catch up, and win. The two NBC commentators said, at the beginning of the stretch they would have bet on Chrome, so it was a great effort from both horses.

I have lost the race. I am 220 DirecTV and suddenly it’s gone
At 5:00pm PT, coverage switched from NBCSN (220) to NBC (channel depends on your local NBC network.)

The talking heads didn’t really change between NBCSN and NCB, I much preferred TVG but to see the race live had to switch.

No, not quarter. Arrogate caught up to Chrome and Chrome dug deep and I thought he had it won until the last 20-30 yds. Baffert said post race that he didn’t really think they could beat Chrome.

Some very nice races between yesterday and today!

That race was everything it was hyped up to be and more! I was screaming for Chrome all the way down the stretch but couldn’t help being impressed by Arrogate’s gutsy performance. Then I found out that one of my former students was his groom and exercise rider when he was a yearling and early two-year-old at Juddmonte. It may be the closest connection I’ll ever get to a Classic winner, but I’ll take it. I had to talk her into that internship, too!

I guess this means I have to stop resisting and drink the Arrogate Kool-Aid… and Mike Smith sure knows how to find horses’ hidden gears.

I am wholeheartedly bummed Chrome lost, but what a match race.
