Are there any telecasts of the Equestrian events on the tentative broadcast schedule at all? Anybody seen a complete schedule of probable event coverage???
The BBC will have up to 24 HD live stream channels going, with full-length replays on demand.
Whoot! Thank you Mods!
I need to troll NBC’s web page again. When I looked last week, it is still as cumbersome as ever to figure out when a sport is scheduled and if it will be broadcast over the air (i.e., NBC, NBCSports, etc)
And, of course, I am not interested in many of the “main stream” sports and more interesting in stuff like, yes, equestrian, bicycle racing etc.
I don’t have an internet-abled TV and don’t like particularly sitting at my desk to watch stuff that takes hours. And, I’d rather DVR and watch after the fact so I can skill commercials.

Good luck searching out useful information!
If you have Roku this is pretty good for $1.99 a month;

Found this, but it looks a bit iffy; http://www.rioolympics2016online.com/Article/30/Rio-2016-Olympics-Equestrian-Schedule/
I just aquired internet enabled Smart TV. Don’t have the router to support it, current provider will upgrade but at substatial cost and it’s already too high. So have to bundle and change providers to get that reasonably. Hate the thought of changing long time E mail addy…
Why is nothing ever simple…
Roku not supported here in BC.
I’ve been able to watch complete coverage of equestrian events via NBC Live Extra in the past, via a website or app. If you have a newer Apple TV and an iPad or Mac, you can see it on your tv using Air Play. Coverage on NBC Live Extra is usually available for a while after the event, since they have both live coverage and full recordings.
The NBC Olympics website is a challenge to navigate, so allow extra time if/when you try.
Meh. I have long since given up trying to watch the equestrian portion of the Olmpics on television. I paid for the Triple-Cast for Barcelona, and almost wanted to punch out the tv with the inane commentary. Really, they can’t get an eventer or dressage person to cover those events, but have a showjumper cover them all? Whatever. The tv scheduling is chaotic. It will say something’s going to shown, and you get something else…four hours of kayaking when you expected equestrian. It isn’t worth it. I’ll read the results, and buy the DVDs thereafter.

This link is the full schedule of live streaming. Equestrian will be live streamed.

I’m sure CBC will be streaming it, they usually have good coverage of equestrian events (at least with an online stream)

Sandy M, I also bought the $120. package for the Olympics. That stuff was in it’s infancy. I got ALL of it. Yes, they need some one better-I think they might have Jon Kyle, and he is pretty good. I was still working, and had to show my dad how to start the VCR. He actually WATCHED! He didn’t know one end of a horse from another. It wasn’t available in my area, had to go to my parents. My mom was worried that it would interfere with her soaps!
Equibrit, as usual, you have done yeoman’s work. I do have Roku, but I rarely use it. I spent HOURS looking at offerings on most of the channels, and usually find nothing. IF I sign up for The BBC, will it give me access to the Olympics, or can NBC block it?

what is the ‘deliberate’ mistake?[/QUOTE]
I guess cause its a picture of Ingrid Klimke doing an eventing dressage test, while the stream is for the GP Special.
I have spent 30 minutes with the DISH people (TV) and 1 hour with the Century Link people (Internet/live stream for USEFnetwork) — and still am no closer to understanding how I can watch the Olympic Equestrian events.
Can someone tell me how live streaming (which shows up on my laptop) happens through my TV? I think that is where I begin to get catatonic.
I have satellite TV which comes in through my dish and then, via cable to my living room, then to my TV.
I have checked with DISH and I have a package which enables me to get the Olympics.
So far, so good.
BUT, how does it leap from my TV to my laptop? That is the part I do not understand, so I cannot figure out how to get the right equipment to make it happen.
As I understand live streaming, the signal comes through my Century Link hook up to my modem/router and then, via wifi, to my laptop. But that kind of live stream has nothing to do with my TV.
Where am I missing the boat? I am sorry to be such a technotard, but I really don’t get it.
