Hunter Phase gets underway tomorrow morning in Tryon. It’s scheduled for 9AM in the Hunter Ring, but there are a couple of Junior Hunter Stake sections in the same ring before the Eq, so actual start time will likely be closer to noon. Jumper Phase and Work-off will be Saturday afternoon.

The minute-by-minute schedule agrees with you, and actually has the start for the hunter phase at about 1 PM.

Irony that the final with the smallest field of entries (by design, considering the original venue) is being held in the place that is probably most conducive to a large group. No knock on WIHS or Tryon, it is what it is.

I’m confused and not familiar with the set up of this ring. Is there anywhere to sit? Or is the seating on the side that the camera is on?

Seating is on the side the camera is. This looks like Ring 4 at Tryon. That is the far outside ring of a set of 4 rings of equal size that have walkways/pavilions in between each ring. They’re actually quite nice with covered areas and couches, high top tables with bar stool height chair with backs, etc.

Is it just me or did rider #2’s horse have hind boots on in the hunter phase? Is that allowed? He still recieved a score of 86 or so…

Per USEF rules, boots and wraps are permitted in all phases of WIHS equitation classes.

Had the same thought. This site indicates it could be Acer K, but it’s been wrong about some of the previous horses so I’d say iffy at best on reliability.
