Ah, screw it, she’s too cute:

Anxiously awaiting more updates. Didn’t hear much after the delivery last night, assuming no news is good news.

So interesting to see a gray STB, they are definitely more rare than other breeds. Wonder if your little one will go gray as well? Can’t see her eyes well enough to guess from that pic. She is very cute, hope she is a world beater at the track someday.

Oh my goodness that is one of the cutest things I’ve seen lately!!! can’t wait to see her up and around. Also curious as to if she will gray out like momma! Her breeding should make her a decent racehorse as well.

There’s that Standardbred head! I had an old friend who bred and raced them, they were all sweethearts based upon my TB knowledge at the time!

ETA: AND EARS! Standardbred ears!

So, here’s an unexpected twist to my breeding plans.

Entice was bred to Saketini on Thursday 3/31. The next day, I found out her 3yo, Slim Slow Slider (by Vancouver) was running in the Rushaway Stakes on Saturday 4/2. He finished third! Missed second by a head. That now makes her a black type producer. Good news-- her 2021 colt now may be accepted into the July Fasig sale, and the 2022 colt by Enticed is now a 3/4 brother to a stakes horse.

But now my husband wants to terminate her possible Saketini pregnancy and send her back to a commercial KY stallion. Financially, it makes sense…but I’ve been dying to get a sport foal from her since we bought her in 2020. This was supposed to be ā€œmyā€ year. And now… First world problems, lol. I may talk with my repro vet and see if there’s any chance of ET. (That makes even less financial sense, but the Entice is 16 this year…). I keep thinking what if we dump the Saketini pregnancy and she doesn’t get in foal in KY?

Congratulations on your Entice colt! I hope ET ends up being a viable option so you can get your sport foal too! Any thoughts on which KY stallion you’d use?

Congrats!!! So cute!!!

While that picture isn’t ideal for color, I think I see dark ear tips, which along with the mealy nose, and light legs makes me guess bay without grey. I have to admit I was hoping for grey!

@Texarkana hope you will share more pics with us when you can. congrats!!

She is so beautiful! Congratulations @Texarkana!!! I love the noble standardbred head and the big mare ears. :heartpulse:
When I worked on a KY TB breeding farm, local lure was that a filly born with big ears was a good one!

Thanks everyone!

I haven’t gotten too many pics and I haven’t gotten to see her in person since she is quite the distance away from me. But I did get one picture with her coat dry and my guess right now is that she will stay bay. I haven’t had a chance to ask anyone there what they think.

Mom is doing great, baby got some plasma because what’s another $1000 or so on the bill at this point. :woman_facepalming: She is doing well, though, her IGG was just low despite frozen colostrum.

@EventerAJ congrats on the big performance! But what a pickle! I know with my luck we’d abort and the mare would be barren for the rest of days, but that’s me.
