Trying to be vague so as to not violate the no advertising rule but wanted to invite everyone in attendance to stop by my daughter’s boutique trailer that is set up along the rail by the turf racetrack overlooking the warm up rings. You can not only see all her great products but say hello to Charlotte pictured below who will be with me every day of the competition.

So excited to visit her trailer, @Laurierace! I am a big fan.

My guess is it’s closer than the other VIP parking which is near the entrance near stadium and vendors. I also got Sawmill parking and club tickets

I’m hoping the shuttles are in full force. I miss the days when they had that hay wagon/tractor to shuttle people around. Hopefully they have something like that again.

Just saw that the YEH jumping won’t be in Sawmill this year, and is closer to the main arena. I think this is great- more exposure! Last year I had to hitch a ride on a trash gator to get out there lol

I loved the hay wagon! It was so much a part of the country-fair flavor of the previous event….
Has anyone seen a course map or course walk online yet…? With a relatively short field in the five-star, I’m trying to figure out if those shuttles will take people to other areas. The Sawmill Field is great, but I want to see more than that, and I’m afraid of getting stuck there; I’m not the fastest walker, and that long hill along Elk Chapel Road is pretty daunting if you’re trying to get to other parts of the course.

Sawmill is going to be used to parking this year. I think for a few hundred cars. I also heard that they are running school buses but I wouldn’t count on it. Get your parking pass for Sawmill if you can. I saw that they have shuttle stops marked but there are not many people signed up to operate the shuttles.

Liz said on EN that he had a foot bruise. I think there must be a big wheel-of-fortune type thing the riders spin when they need to give an answer as to why they were spun, answers being:

  1. Foot bruise
  2. Badly timed abscess
  3. Nicked on pastern when unloading from trailer
    etc.

In all seriousness, that sucks for Liz. I know she’s been working hard to get him back into the big game since they had to bow out of the Olympics.

EN has provided a link to an interactive course map:

If you didn’t buy a Sawmill parking pass, I think you’d have to walk most of the course to get there, but there is a lot to see. It looks like they will be going through the Mars Sustainability Bay (with the blue-crab jump) in the opposite direction from last year. In addition to that water complex, the County Fair Roller Coaster and the Fair Hill Drop are in the same basic area.

Certainly looks amped up from last year, especially the final quarter of the course. Always hard to say until it’s actually being ridden but I have a feeling Saturday will be influential.
