What happened to daylight savings not existing anymore?

At least those kiddos horses trainers and grooms get an extra hour of sleep!

You have to live in Arizona, Hawaii, or some parts of Indiana for that. The rest of us can’t have nice things because of the way we jinxed Skylar last year.

Does this mean you’re watching with us?

The NHS now has a scoring app available that will post the standby after each 50, as well as the scores of those 50! I’m very interested to see that to really tune my eye.

Now I need to Google & find out where Hoosiers won’t do DST
I’m in the part that does CST & DST too :weary:
It’s already hard enough remembering how far East or South I go before time is different. :mantelpiece_clock::woozy_face:

Maybe the kids will. The others, possibly not so much.

If I understand the new format correctly, they are having two pairs of judges who will each be throwing independent scores. Including the flat phase, from what I was told.

So that will be very, very, very, very different.

Which turns out to have been a rather practical decision in hindsight considering that they will be judging for 14 hours straight when all is said and done, and each person will need a partner to confirm they haven’t gone cross-eyed by the end of it plus the other panel to see the biffed lead change at the opposite end of the ring. I wish the judging panels copious amounts of coffee (but not so much they are desperate for the bathroom by the time the 30th horse goes) and a very good night’s rest the night before.

The coffee calculation is crucial for judges, let me tell you. Lol.

How do we get the app? Is there a link on the website?

I think it’s the same as the status page Renn_aissance shared?

The “app” link on the NHS home page goes there.

It feels like Christmas Eve-eve. At least Maclay Finals also feels like it lasts longer than Christmas Day and therefore is more worth all the build-up!!!

Probably a lot more tears involved, though. Lol.

Talk about a nightmare judging scenario.

I know, right???

How is it physically and mentally possible to judge fairly and consistently over a period of 14 hours non-stop?

No.

I swear that some legislation had passed that the time change wasn’t going to happen anymore, and I was living for that, but I’m becoming convinced that I made it up.

It passed the Senate but not the House, and at the rate the House is going, they probably have other priorities…

Didn’t they get it backwards, though? Like, they recommended the opposite of what every expert thought would be the best approach?

Nope. It was introduced and looked like it was going to put into action, and sat idle in Congress. They never fully got it approved and put into action.
Guess they were all busy freaking out about dress codes. Ridiculous.
