I just got home. Did they give a time estimate to start the flat phase?
Someone above said they heard 4:45.
Thanks! Iām glad for her. I did not get to see it live today, but I hope they will have a replay posted somewhere.
Regarding the number for the flat phase. If they bring back 24 riders spilt into two groups, that means they can counter counter each group of them together. It is against the rules to counter counter more than 12 at one time. So that may have played into the decision of how many to bring back for the flat phase.
I missed that, thank you!
Absolutely love being able to click through scores, love the addition of it this year Curious how judges felt about that.
Bummed for Amira Kettaneh!
The judges want to get on with it and go back to the hotelšnot starting the callback until 5pm has to suck for everybody. Judging it must be exhausting.
Honestly, Iām not keen on the idea, just because I think itās really a lot to keep track of with so many riders.
The primary responsibility for the judges is to pick the winners. That should be the main focus of their time and attention.
So when they have to spend other time and attention deciding which rider with the mistake is going to get a 75.35 or a 75.45 or 75.55, that just takes away their focus and energy from the main contenders every time they have to do that calculation.
I wondered too given when Skylar Wiremanās horse tripped last year and they killed her score. Apparently these judges didnāt mind.
Me too!
Iām still upset about that! Lol.
Just search her name on Clip My Horse, its the first video that pops up
Right???!!! It seemed mean spirited as her round was otherwise flawless
Me too!!
Not ot mention having to make the scores fit where you want them.
I still feel like she should have won one of the finals last year. She rode so well throughout the fall.
Obviously she is not letting it slow her down, since I think things are already going very well for her as a professional. But still!

Not ot mention having to make the scores fit where you want them.
Exactly.
The mental gymnastics are tough enough when youāre just trying to really keep track of the contenders for the second round. Never mind the other 200 entries.

Maybe Iām misunderstanding, but the judges have always kept score cards. This is just the first time those numeric scores have been available to us as spectators. I doubt the judges themselves are responsible for uploading the scores (probably the scribes), so Iām not sure what theyāre doing now that is different from what theyāve always done.
This business about adjusting the back numbers every 30 seconds seems distracting and unnecessary.
They really worked them on the flat. I feel like in recent years that has not been the case.
Now Iām wondering if the four judges are sitting together on one side for the flat phase.
