Personal preference thing but many of these riders don’t seem to know how to hold a crop still against their thigh!! A horse seeing a crop flapping around has got to be a bit unhappy about it.

I remember seeing Sissy Wickes get interviewed at the 2019 Thoroughbred Makeover and the person asked whether TB’s were making a comeback and she stated very firmly that, “The Thoroughbred never left Virginia.” And I wanted to applaud her.

Anyone have the standby? I was trying to scribble as Oliver talked, but he went too fast for me.

I got the first several.

I was thinking Kelli Cruciotti but she went early, not first, according to this article.

I wish they’d spend more time commenting on the rounds, not chitchatting. Ava seems to be trying to bring it back, but I find Sissy does this every time.

From the Chronicle coverage:

I have to say that the chestnut horse with all the white was trying SO hard for his rider Isabelle C.

It was not a perfect round, but that horse was doing his best the whole time. Bless him.

I believe they call it “mad skills”

Lol.

Man, I thought Caroline Wang needed more pace to start, but this horse has been walking the lines the whole time.

This is a much more inviting course than some previous finals. I like it.

Yes. You don’t need a Grand Prix horse to get around it in one piece.

Emma Rheinheimer’s horse looks quite on the muscle trotting in. Fingers crossed that it takes a breath.
