Actually it was not Taylor. I think it was Tori Colvin. Taylor did not own Charisma, Andre did and still does. Charisma is a lovely horse, but not that easy when Taylor got the ride. For instance he did not want land right. He became a superstar, but certainly the work Taylor put into him made him as stellar as he was.

Standby after the first 100, from the Chronicle coverage:

Does anyone know where Cent 15 is these days? I was a little surprised to see Jordan on a different horse, but I haven’t been keeping up with whether she’s ridden Cent at all this year.

I know the year Taylor won she went first because she was only one of about a dozen kids that I “kinda of knew” riding that year and it freaked me out. I don’t remember about Tori, though.

So! Many! Grays!

I congratulate all of the grooms who were up all night with Mrs. Stewart’s making these horses sparkle.

Elizabeth Rinehart made me whistle from the couch (and nearly sent the cat into the next county.) And the kid is 13! Holy smokes, what a finals debut.

“St. Jacques’ final test was just about as foot-perfect as her other two rounds. Provost and Towell put her on top after her first round, when she went 73rd in the order out of 253.”
This article from that year says she went 73rd.

When Mckayla Langmeier won the Maclay Final, she went 1st in the order.

Thank you! My memory sucks, doesn’t it!

Funny you should say that. I just took this picture at a Dover store last week. Hats off to Dover as well for sponsoring this class!

I go to the tack store to buy laundry bluing for my sheets because I can’t find it in stores anywhere else.

Coincidentally, Jack Towell is judging the class again this year. And I believe he has judged it in previous years as well. So I wonder what his tally is so far.

Also, the girl from California who went a few rounds ago listed Skylar Wireman as one of her trainers. I think that’s the only one so far trained by a contender from the same class last year.

I have actually never used Mrs. Stewart’s in my life. I feel like this was almost the first time I’ve ever seen it in person on a shelf anywhere.

Great ride for Clara Propp. I also love the way that horse was going. I was saying earlier that I thought a lot of these horses were being ridden in too compressed of a posture, up in front and behind the vertical. That nice chestnut horse went around in a relaxed posture on an open stride and compressed and extended easily, in a natural way.

does anyone know how to send the commentators a question? I missed where they said to send them

Skylar works for her mom, Shane. They were busy at our Maclay regionals a few weeks ago and ended up with three in the top ten. Here’s Skylar helping one of their students.

For anyone who is curious about the trainers, if you look at the order of go and click on the name of the horse, it lists the horse’s owner and trainer.

I wish Sissy would stop talking about the way back days, herself, and other random topics.
