So many of these horses are such honest triers.
Iāll keep an eye out, but I think they will have the replay up later.
That is true so much of the time.
There is the occasional horse that does not want to play, but the vast, vast majority of horses are fantastically good sports. In every division.
I would hate to commentate. You have to say something. But after about the second chip in a round, what do you say thatās constructive and respectful? āWell, not enough pace there and now here and wow sheās really not getting the memo, huh? Oh yep, there is another terrible distance, good thing I pointed that out for you guys at home, Iām sure you couldnāt tell by the deer jumpā¦ā. You canāt just keep dissecting a riderās bad decisions, they are going to watch the replay and listen to you over and over. When things are going great itās easy to focus on the ring, but if they are mediocre or just plain awful, the best thing you can do I think is talk about something else, with an occasional compliment thrown their way where you can manage it. Some history of the sport talk or some personal anecdotes from a couple judges and a top rider are possibly going to help or resonate with someone somewhere.
I missed the standby list.

If they were letting the rider have a few bad jumps before doing that, fine. But thatās not what is happening. Sissy is rambling without even so much as a mention of the rider.
Likewise, the right answer in those situations when things arenāt going well is silence.
Ava did a fabulous job commentating the Talent Search East and West alone. Sheās a wonderful addition to our sport and for viewers at home.
Glad to see Sally Ives made the list.
Emma Blumenkrantz had a lovely round.
She did do a really good job there. And I think itās probably hard to do that alone, carrying the whole thing single-handedly.
Wonderful, the live stream is working perfectly. Hooray!!!
Shhh! Donāt jinx it!!! Lol.
Number 162 is getting a little extra time in the ring while they were trying to reassemble that skinny jump.
Very nice to see an excellent horse such as Quite Cassini who I believe had a big career as a jumper in Europe before being imported and then stepping down to the big eq with much success still going around and looking wonderful at 19 years old.
Ava seemed excited to see him.
Itās so funny when they list the trainers and I still think of one of them as a pony kid. Time flies!!
Omg. Any Given Sunday. Still going!!!
He has a birthday coming up soon according to the USEF website. Foaled on 11/5/2003.
He looks fantastic!!
Ava seems like such a compassionate horseman. There was a question submitted to the commentators about which element of the course they would change or remove if given the chance. Ava said she understood the need given time constraints but in a perfect world, would like to see no dotted line for opening circles so that greener horses could be shown that hanging gate.
20 years old now.
I thought the same thing about her response. Lots of empathy for the horse.
