I am 99 and 44/100% sure it was not either one of those facilities.
I attended the Maclay final at both of those places, and they did not look anything like that, as I recall.

It was sort of a covered ring as opposed to an indoor ring, but the sides were pretty tall or at least taller than I’m use to.
Was it Chelsea Piers in NYC? Would have been circa 2003/4.
Edit: Never mind if it was 40 years ago, oops!
I attended the Maclay final there as well! Lol.
It did not look anything like that to me.
The 40 year range was just a guesstimate on my part, based on the style of the horses as they were going around the ring.
It reminded me a bit of the old YouTube clip from 1982, when Peter Wylde won on Native Surf.
I almost wondered if the clip could have been from the elimination round at Overpeck that year, but I don’t think it really looked like Overpeck, either.
Lovely trip by Maddie Tosh. She’ll be on the standby.
Really nice round by Maddie Tosh! Good for her.
Wasn’t she just a pony rider five minutes ago? It seems like it. Lol.
Taylor Cawley is suck a beautiful rider. Lovely trip!
And a lovely round by Taylor Cawley. Good for her as well!
Got home just in time to see Taylor Cawley lay it down. I thought this morning looking at the course map that the serpentine from 3ab through 7 was either going to make or break people and she rode it beautifully. Have there been trouble spots in the course so far?
There have been trouble spots all over the course, but a lot of people have had difficulty in that bending line from 6 to 8, and quite a few have had the blue vertical at 8 down.
The little clip they just showed at the start of this drag break was definitely from the 1982 Maclay final at the Garden that I mentioned earlier.
It looks like Taylor Cawley went right to the top of the standby. At least she did not have to wait around very long to find out!

Taylor and Maddie straight to the top of the standby.
Right where they belong, I would say.
I hope Emily Jurnovoy has another year. I thought it was a little too much stick when the horse got wide-eyed at the first jump (overhand) but she did a really nice job cowgirling up in an appropriately assertive but not punitive way for the next couple of fences and then apparently forgot they’d had trouble as soon as the horse settled in. That’s a horse who is finishing better than he started and good experience for them both.
Vera’s horse was trying very hard for her. He definitely understood the assignment. Bless him.
Hearing Carlee speak of Chacco Star, have we seen him at a final this year?
Really wish a class based on horsemanship listed the horses for each kid.
