So many great rides today from riders with years to go in their junior careers. Very cool to see.
Had a swap off the ground
This should be good!
Interesting that they are telling them the test in advance, not making them come in the ring first.
Maddie, Christian, Adriana, Taylor
Enter at the walk
Hand gallop 10 (yahoo! Let’s get down to business to defeat the huns.)
Canter 11
Canter 5AB
Canter 9
Canter 12
Halt, stand 4-6 seconds
Walk to exit
Interesting there’s no counter canter. There’s always counter canter lol
Hand gallop 10, canter 11, canter 5ab, canter 9, canter 12, halt, stand 4-6 seconds, exit at the walk.
This is where it gets fun! Love that we are starting with a hand gallop to the first jump.
This test is surprisingly simple. No counter canter, they have their stirrups, no trot. The path is tricky, sure, but.
Walk through gate, kick, kick again, kick one more time to be sure you’ve got a hand gallop, then keep the leg on.
They watched the medal finals and decided they’ve seen enough sadness about the counter-canter.
I think there’s enough turning and enough tricky tricky in the track that they will set themselves apart without it.
That could very well be true!
Besides which, if they don’t simmer down and take a breath after fence 10, they’re going to punch out the top rail on 11 or get under 5AB. Saw a couple of riders make that mistake into 5AB in the top 24. Not enough balance off of 4 and they’ve got less time now.
I like that it’s not a test of whose memory is the best.
Damn, a swap on the hand gallop for Maddie.
Surprised Maddie dropped down behind two with rails. But I’m not there and may not have seen everything they saw.
Did he just swap and swap back on the way to the first?
Where was the hand gallop?
Yep.
Daktari has never liked to stand still.
