2024 Maclay Final Thread

See, you don’t even need me anymore.

OMG - this makes me feel so old! I remember when Taylor was born :joy:

The Jack Russell was being so naughty that I was about to comment to the person that he made my dog look well behaved on a leash by comparison, which was really saying something.

But then I looked up and recognized him and decided not to bother him. Lol.

I think during the press conference Stacia made some comment like this was the first time she trained a Maclay winner she had met when the kid was one day old. Lol.

I think Jessie was only about six when she started at Beacon Hill so that’s still close! Didn’t the Springsteen’s live next door?

I made sure to cluck at them all in your honor. It was a team effort. But you better show up next year.

I don’t know the answer to that question, but I seem to remember hearing that Bruce performed at Stacia’s wedding. Can you even imagine??

Springsteens were just around the corner from Beacon Hill. They had a fun bunch of quarter horses for the family & friends to cowboy up on.

Those riders were sorted by back number, not placed/scored. Her score was a 29.5, unfortunately, as it was considered a refusal.

Oh, that’s too bad, but understandable. Well done to her anyway, for making the best of a bad situation.
I really thought the horse might go over.

If anyone has a Clip My Horse membership, the whole class is posted there, including the press conference at the end.

I remember being at a show and seeing little Molly hugging her pony Frito Bandito as she exclaimed, “I LOVE Frito, he’s my buddy!”

I rode with Sue from ‘79-81’ the before and after pictures are pretty telling lol. Molly and I miss sharing a birthday by 24 hours, we had shared birthday parties. Watching Taylor’s journey to the top has been pretty cool.

Someone on FB mentioned how they can’t wait for the Olympic team that has Taylor, JJ, and Olivia on it…

I think I remember Molly from her pony days playing the Ms. Pac-Man game they had set up at the Culpeper show grounds. That was a while ago. Lol.

Well I am even older because I remember Molly’s older brother Neil! He was also an excellent rider but I think he decided to make a career in finance because he came to my office and had a meeting with my boss about it.

I remember Neil. He rode extremely well. I believe he did go off into the business world. And I think he also did quite well there, as I recall.

This article includes videos from the winner’s second round and her test.

Thanks for sharing.

It’s a shame that most of these events are pay to watch.

That one was free to watch live. But not free to watch on demand after the fact.
