2024 Maclay Final Thread

Still they’re saying it… Great round by Brian Moggre though! I haven’t seen his name much recently, so I’m glad to watch his beautiful round.

Live results: It’s clear that Beat had time faults https://nhs.showmanagementsystem.com/rtd/live-competition/5a166167-99f1-490e-8934-cc6321842748

I believe McLain helped her for a while.

I remember her from when she was a pony rider. Lol.

Her leg is lovely.

Goodness, who is commentating? Siri, play The Sound of Silence.

She rode with McLain for a while - he rode her grey horse in the Olympics one year. I think not long after that year she left him and rode with Beat - not sure if she still rides with him or someone else now. I think she has been in graduate school and maybe has a real job in addition to continuing to ride at this level - if so that’s really impressive.

Thanks. Brian’s voice I recognized.

They are jinxing people left and right.

Speaking of equitation riders who have moved on to the jumpers, who else remembers Sloan Coles from the TV show Road to the Maclay?

Which was almost 20 years ago by now! How can that be??

I suppose Callum is new at commentating. It was difficult to listen to them talking about everything else but the round in front of them, during the JR/AM Grand Prix.

I think he’s been doing pretty well. He did win that Grand Prix at that new horse show in New York about a month ago.

That place was beautiful. They’re planning to bump it up to a five star for next year.

I was looking at the start list and was thinking it was kind of old home week here with Sloane, Brianne, Jessie Springsteen.

Brianne’s style is still recognizable however many years later!

She still looks super, super smooth on a hunter as well.

Well done Brianne!

There is quite a high percentage of previous equitation final winners in this class, now that they’re pointing it out!

And Hunter! Though I think she was a few years later.

thereby demonstrating the place the equitation holds in the development pipeline!

It seems like there have been a couple horses reading fences wrong tonight and putting their legs down early.

Yay Jessica!
