yeah, but there is talk of that becoming a penalty in the future

the camera behind the jump that Donkers just jumped was not a skinny or corner

For hitting a flag on a skinny with the rider’s foot or as the horse jumps through them? That seems a bit extreme…

oh yeah. But there was a lot of talk about it at Kentucky and Badminton. I think it is a very bad idea with so many sharp angles to negotiate.

4 of the 16 team first horses were double clear.

I thought Karin looked slow, but she only had a handful of time penalties.

I must admit I’m not familiar with a lot of the other team horses - are there many stallions competing in eventing this time around? Commentary team here have highlighted two?

not usually, but there are a few over the years. The Spanish rider suddenly looks very tired.

That was a shame for the Czech rider at the first water. It’ll be a long way around.

Another slip on the turn there

Well I’m off to catch a few more zzz’s…fingers crossed for no incidents today and the ground holding up!!

I’ve been thinking the barges look incredibly stable. Barely any ripples as the horses gallop across!

Wundermaske!!! I hope they go around well!

I don’t want to jinx it but looks like no pins/MIM have been activated so far - course seems to be riding well overall and the horses are reading the questions (besides the small ditches).

I can’t believe he’s 21. Looks fab.

I loved the article about him and how selective Ronald is with running him. IMHO the reason horses break is too much competing in bad conditions/overtraining in general.
