I saw her hit a flag but it didn’t look like she missed it?!

7 different countries represented in the top 10 individually after XC

that is fabulous and great to see.

No I agree. Judging from the amount of cameras around should be easy to prove or disprove I guess!!

Jon just said Roz ha a flag at the third element of whimsical woods. I have seen at least 10 people hit that flag, but not charged. WTH?

Still in gold medal position but not as comfortable a lead now.

What on earth are those galloping aids?

This is definitely the most exciting Olympic field we’ve had! Laura and Michi neck-and-neck for gold, multiple countries in the hunt that you wouldn’t usually expect to see, and even the usual powerhouses having some issues to keep things interesting. Show jumping tomorrow is going to be a nail biter for sure.

what galloping aids?

That last French horse was as tired as I’ve seen finishing.

Nicolas was flailing around trying to push his horse on after the last combination. It was a rather ugly picture.

well, they all have to pass the jog tomorrow. And with all the holds the other day, it might be interesting.

By far the loudest XC crowd I’ve ever seen :fr:

pressure to finish… home team… yeah.

Lovely way to finish with the Belgian rider there over the moon and horse still fill of running.

anyone hear an update about the AUS horse that retired on course with possible right front injury?

What a fabulous day of XC. I immensely enjoyed that course.

Upthread I made a comment about it being arena eventing-like and I couldn’t have been more wrong. I incorrectly got that impression from the pictures and a few interviews about it being fence after fence with so many jumping efforts.

But it just rode so nicely while still asking some tough questions. I wanted to take a crack at some of those fences by the end!

Well, if someone on the US team had to have a problem, I am “glad” it was Caroline. She and Blake had been so clean in all his lead up events, it was almost like he was “due”.

I don’t attend many upper level events but it seemed very long. But maybe I just had too many pastries.

Does anyone know how the length compared to other courses?

I mean, he’s a baby and it’s her first games. Sh*t happens! Their future is bright.

I am such a huge fan of Caroline’s. She has worked her tail off. And quite frankly, she doesn’t have to work as hard as she does. She could be cruising around fully funded on one or two competition horses, but that’s not what she wants.
