2025 Foal Watch

Arielle, now that she’s in heat, is pooling fluid and showing tons of inflammation in her uterus. Her culture came back positive for strep. So she’s getting treated this week, and then hopefully (cross all the digits!) we will be in a good position to move forward with the ET attempt on her next cycle. She and Sydney will come home from the repro center on Saturday, and Sydney will make a quick trip back next week for her 14-day ultrasound.

I’m exhausted already, and I’m not even on foal watch yet!

@Montanas_Girl Aaargh… Arielle!! She is determined to make you work hard for this last baby!!

I started testing Arya’s milk (secretions)… 8.4 pH on Tuesday (boooring) but 7.6 pH yesterday.

So there’s progress… we shall see what today brings.

Congratulations, @pony_grandma! And your girl is looking great, @Fuego1.

Thank you! I couldn’t be happier with this baby. She got the “presence” that her mom has that made me love her.

SIGH

Arya has stalled. No new developments. Her “milk” is still diluted lemonade and still salty… testing between 7.9 and 8.3pH every day.

Day 333 today. (she went 337 and 330 with her last 2, due around the same time). I guess boys mature more slowly in horses, too…?? :see_no_evil:

OMG He’s adorable!!!

I can’t wait to meet him, although I don’t know how anyone is going to get anything done. We’re all just going to want to cuddle him!

Elvis is adorable!

Baby Morgans! (The same I posted upthread when they were brand new, at Ancan Morgans in Michigan.)

I figure y’all are horse people so you wouldn’t mind the pile of manure in the photo of the very itchy filly. They are both super friendly and very (very) itchy as they’re shedding their baby coats.

@quietann, how cute are they!

So my mare came into heat a week late. First day of heat was Saturday. Sunday morning I teased her again with my colt. Then put her in the trailer and my husband drove her 500kms to the stallion. The stallion owner presented the stallion three times and the mare isn’t responding!! :open_mouth:
Getting a vet to ultrasound her today to see what’s happening.

Hop and Shortskrtlongjckt are on a van to Lexington to have someone else manage her cycle for the first time. I’m stressed about it.

Tipsy has been sold to a local pro as a riding horse. It’s a great home and I’m thrilled. She was sold with a clause that she can always return. She ships out tomorrow.

My client broodmares left today too, so suddenly my farm is only boys!
