Thank you! I have been breeding riding ponies since 2003, Twin Lights Farm. Recently retired and moved to Tennessee. But you can never truly get out of it. Brought all my bloodiest and stallion with me. Just breeding 1 now and then now. This foal and his full yearling brother, represent 4 generations of my breeding. Both sire and dam bred by me, combining both my mare lines. Mare is TLF Masquerade, Welsh x GRP. Stallion is 3/4 Hanoverian , 1/4 GRP.

His sire and dam are a credit to your breeding program. Both beautiful, as is your foal.

Arielle was bred yesterday and this morning. The vet said the semen looked great, and he felt like she was on the verge of ovulating this morning when they put the second dose in. He will check her again in the morning to hopefully confirm ovulation.

At least the wait between breeding and flushing for ET/freezing is only a week rather than two? I’ve been trying to get this breeding match done for so long…Let’s hope this attempt is finally the charm!

Carina is making some progress in the udder department but is still taking her sweet time.

Oh he is precious!

I recognized some of the ponies in his pedigree as ones I’d met when you were boarding Josephine for me. It was a fine little herd of lovely ponies.

Well, Arielle did her job and ovulated. Now we wait. Hopefully I will still have fingernails left by this time next week!

He’s really nice Laurie. Does he still have an attitude?

No, thankfully. He is his dam’s first foal, so she accepted a lot of attitude from him in the beginning. But after 2-3 weeks, she’d had enough of that and started whipping him into shape. Now he’s very respectful of her.

Good for her! I’m sure you must be proud of her mothering skills.

My colt is 2 weeks old as of today. I’m still trying to come up with a good barn name. I’m thinking of calling him Firefly.

He has not offered any more kicking but now he has started playful biting and nipping. We are working on picking up his feet and he did pretty well with that today. He gets the zoomies about midmorning and goes for a gallop almost every day.
