26 Welsh ponies in danger in Michigan

I make the trek btw Tryon, NC and A2, MI pretty often. I take 75-40-26. Where is your pony staying for now …and WHAT a beautiful pony you have there!
If you are bringing your pony to NC we live in Virginia and bought #4 Maybe we can network and share the cost or trip of getting these two to their new homes? I can be reached at annrussva@hotmail.com
all went to good homes

I wasn’t there, but from what I have been told by others who were, all went to good homes, no KB’s. Great job to all of those who attended and rescued these sweet ponies…and the AQHA mare.

Who got the dark palomino?

Awesome! What a relief!

I’m sure Monday there will be more to rescue from New Holland.

One eyed mares name is …Hope

I bought the one eyed mare , her name is Hope and she loaded and unloaded beautifully and is calm as can be. Walked her around and showed her off to my mares. Not a jumpy bone on her, she is quite happy in her warm stall with plenty of hay and water, will see how she is tomorrow…
Actually a fluke on the bidding. I was waving my hand while talking and he took it for a bid of 250…I went as high as 200…oh well !! she 's HOME now and will get quite spoiled and well taken care of.

All are safe…the lame AQHA mare with the prevously fractured hock sold to the kill buyer for $175. The woman from Horse’s Haven rescue was behind me and raised her # to bid $185 but the auctioneer didn’t notice and the hammer fell. The KB noticed that she had tried to bid and walked over to the auctioneer. He then asked her if she wanted the mare for $185 and she took her! Everyone cheered!

Just got home…the AQHA mare with the bad hock made it safely to her overnight home and will be heading up to Horses Haven tomorrow.

Kudos to O’Neill Muirhead, for seeing Camille trying to bid and letting her go…he was a stand-up guy tonight for sure.

Phew…what a night!

ETA…Sorry to hear that the mare with the bloody hocks went down in the trailer, I hope she’s ok :frowning:

Glad to hear that everything turned out for the best with the mare!

Was I bidding against a COTHer for the Cremello?

Tiempo, she went down in the trailer on the way TO the auction. They were bloody in the sale ring.

Good news about the AQHA mare!

Oh, ok, I saw they were bloody in the ring, I was worried about her and thought she’d gone down on her way home.
who was the 90.00 pony??
Does anyone that knows anything about these ponies know the #6’s name?? She sure is cute on pictures!
It was a smaller gelding. I’m assuming one of the chocolate/dark bay geldings that looked similar to each other! He sold to the lady that was bidding for myself and SSF.

Auction

This brought tears to my eyes. Oh yes, the mare would have come home with me ahahahah which is why I dont do auctions./

Kudo’s to the KB I rest my case. We may hate them but…if they see a home that wants a certain animal, most of the time, they will allow a private buyer to have them. NO, not all of them are that kind but most that I have dealt with. I have even had them call me when too nice a horse is about to get on the train. And they honestly gave them to me for what they paid.

This was a wonderful group of people who walked the walk and saved some of these ponies from the final journey. Good on you all and even better for the ponies.

No pony for me :frowning: but happy they all found homes!
That particular KB isn’t as bad as some, he has a good eye and he sells some decent horses. I’m thinking he would have hauled that mare right on over to Sexy Rexys anyway, for a lesson horse.

rendyv, I was so ready to bid on that one eyed mare when you made your last “bid”! Congratulations, shes such a pretty girl.

YAY!

GIANT KUDOS TO IHF FOR GETTING THIS STARTED!

Job Well Done

Wonderful collaborative effort! IHF and Baxtersmom…your help with photos, descriptions and ability to be there was amazing! Let’s hope that other auctions will be publicized here on COTH so that more horses and ponies can be rescued and rehomed. There are auctions all the time…let’s keep them publicized!!!

just an amazing effort. i am in awe of all of you!!

Thanks again, to Tiempo for everything you did for us! I am so grateful and thankful to both you and Mr. Tiempo (Who let me listen on the cell as the bids went up!)

No trouble at all Annika, I was so glad we could get Jazz a pony, have you heard from Mr.Annika how she is doing?

She is such a tiny little thing, it will be interesting to see her blossom

It was also WONDERFUL of Mr.Annika to volunteer to take the AQHA mare to her overnight home…HUGE thank you’s to your awesome hubby

Alison.

She is great, I guess, and very well behaved, considering that she has not been handled. He thinks she might be younger then 2…and she is not on the foal web page.

He is going to send pictures today!

Thanks again, Dear Allison and T! (My PT!)
