26 Welsh ponies in danger in Michigan
She is great, I guess, and very well behaved, considering that she has not been handled. He thinks she might be younger then 2…and she is not on the foal web page.

He is going to send pictures today!

Thanks again, Dear Allison and T! (My PT!)
Annika! We still have your paperwork… doh!

Can I pop down and drop them off at you house?

Hee hee…then I get to see the pony again.

Is that kind of like the cliched ‘accidentally’ leaving something at a date’s house so you can see tham again??

Of course…but don’t worry- I can actually get them from you later. She is going to be there for at least 2 weeks until I take her back down south…

So, time to trim a donkey, doncha think?:lol:

Way to go, girls – OPERATION SWP (Save Welsh Ponies) was a roaring success!

Great meeting everyone last night (Tiempo, Silveroaks, etc.). Thanks for the cookies, Silveroaks … I hadn’t had time for dinner, coming from Ohio starting around 5:00 p.m.!

Hope everyone is happy with the results - give yourself a pat on the back! Thanks, IHF for your wonderful efforts. It was such a joy to “play with ponies.”

I will post some pix. from our COTH meeting, as well as some of the auction ponies, within the next week (don’t think I got any of the adorable yearling grey with the Mohawk, tho! What a stitch! ).

Does anyone know what happened to the Appaloosa Colt and Chestnut that were not in with the Welsh ponies?
The Appy went to a very nice lady for her daughter to ride (private home). I hooked them up with the seller post-sale – as I had been chatting with him earlier when he arrived. It was one of those very few wonderful moments when everything goes the way it should. He didn’t want to sell and was really fond of his horse, but his job took him away from his farm now and he couldn’t look after the horse any more - horse went to a wonderful private home with a teen happy as can be to have him - and buyer and seller talked at length to ensure the horse has best possible outcome … By the end of the night, her daughter (who refused to leave the STALLION’s side) was up on his back inside the pen with only a lead rope. That sure was one of the nicest little Appy’s (disposition-wise) I’ve ever seen … a 3 y.o. barely broke STALLION with a kid on his back … in the middle of AUCTION FRENZY (I had no helmet to offer her!, but that horse wasn’t going anywhere, anyway  )???

The eensy, sickly weanling also went to a good home. I spoke with those owners, as well. They were already discussing a treatment plan by the time they left the auction.

Good on you all for coordinating this!!

I would’ve happily bid except I absolutely positively have no room or cash for another horse right now. I’m glad to hear they’re all safe.

Awww! Thanks for the update Magnum! I took a liking to the Appy colt/stud too! He did have an extremely sweet disposition amidst all of the chaos. I was hoping that he would go to a good home…and the little sickly weanling too. This was my first auction, and I really would have loved to take them all home. Those two broke my heart a bit, so am glad to hear all turned out well.

To all BUYERS

If you got a pony and would like to know more info like breeding, age, etc…I might be able to help. PM me for details. or email at csan1656@aol.com (best option)…send me the details of your pony and I get see what info I can gather…

The group I was with (I was physically not present but, on the phone) bought the Cremello, $90 (10), and Koda (18)

I’m so glad to hear that all the ponies were bought by appropriate homes! Would love to see pics from any COTH new owners.

Now, what will divert me from everything else I need to do this week?

Amazing job, guys. Nice.

WoW Cothers are Amazing

Blue Ribbon Success !!!Makes your heart feel * GOOD !!! GOOD LUCK to all the ponies and their new owners!!!

Auction photos

I have photos from the auction is anyone is interested. They aren’t as good as those taken last week by Baxter, tho, as the lighting inside was just terrible.

Anyway, if anyone wants them (I’ve emailed some privately already), please let me know.

p.s. The Crypt (assuming he is crypt) went to a good home, for the person who asked. He is staying in Michigan and a younger rider (hunter and dressage) purchased him.

(Side note: Vets can sometimes give an Rx for hormone shots. I gave them to my Crypt over a period, of I think it was 3 weeks. This allowed the second testicle which had not (and likely would not have otherwise) dropped to drop on down for a “REGULAR” gelding procedure (NOT a full blown open ab surgery, which is what I thought I’d be facing during the haul in).

I bought #15, PF Dawn Treader, 3 yr old chestnut gelding. He is absolutely adorable with his big blaze and 2 high white socks! He has been named Cooper. I am friends with the girl who bought #28 (supposed crypt) and he has a good home, however, he made end up at my farm as well. He is a half brother to Cooper and has been named Connor.

SSFLandon - you have a PM!!

Here is our young pony!

This is the pony for the yet unborn granddaughter!

The bay and the donkey are also both rescues. The bay is not that skinny! He is puffing towards the pony (interloper that she is!)

Adorable! Glad you’re getting a head start

Oh! I’m so glad we got her for you! I was sitting between Tiempo and Mr. Tiempo and Tiempo was having a hard time following the auctioneer’s “accent” so I got to bid for her for you. That baby was so sweet and she hopped right in the trailer and rode so calmly. I think she will work out great for your granddaughter! And she is sooooooo cute in that picture!

Jess

Did a COTHer purchase #3?
If so could you PM me.

YAY YOU GUYS!!! Well done!

3 palamino

I bought the #3palamino. She is so nice. Shes very quiet and friendly and gets along with all my horses. She must be somewhat trained as I had a 10 yr old girl sit on her and she was great. Lead her around on a lead rope.Picks up all feet and very sweet. We were lucky to have gotten her! Elaine Highland MI
