It looks like Riversbend and Slyfox are going back and forth. There is 2 more days until the bidding is closed.
Wasnāt Slyfox the photographer who was shadowing him?
Oh⦠I donāt know.
I thought it was The Beeffalo, but I could be wrong.
Shadowing him as in documenting his epic journey to manhood for future film use, or shadowing him to make sure he wasnāt further abusing the horses?
I donāt recall anyoneās name other than Lame Brain himself and the elusive Selena/Serena/Sabrina.
Documentary: A spoiled boy who will never be a man, not even after an epic journey.
I think that could really be insightful for people. Realize there is no point in trying any more. Well, friends and family might realize that, anyway.
Looks like Slyfox is pulling ahead. I wonder if they will restore Falcon (maybe even groom him, unlike Frosted Flake) and post glamour shots for all to see.
Did anyone ever find out how much of a cut the auction takes as a commission?
I meant to inquire but got distracted.
I genuinely hope the buyer is willing to share at least an initial report on how they find Falcon to be doing, and what his future is likely to be. They donāt have to do that, of course. But it would be lovely for Falconās fan club.
If we donāt hear from them I am just going to imagine the best. Several months of pasture rest (with a mild winter and grass) before a not too strenuous job and the best of care. For the rest of his life, this is his last best home. Will hope for that!
Well I texted Cereal about Pete. Iāll let you know what I hear.
Spuds, not sure if your interest is in helping this horse Pete specifically (which is obviously wonderful), but things donāt work things out with this nutcase owner, there are several lovely horses close to you at Dorset Equine Rescue looking for a soft retirement: https://dorsetequinerescue.org/category/adopt/
Well I heard back. He wants $6,000 for Pete. Dream on. An elderly, used up quarter horse realistically would be about $2000 or less.
Iām so sorry. There just is no limit to his selfishness.
Now that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. That horse is a borderline euth case.
I agree, that is the dumbest thing I have heard. The reserve for Falcon was $5k, why would he be asking a grand MORE for Pete via private sale?
He is a complete ass.
Maybe make him a flat offer, perhaps a little over what it should be. Also quote him a figure of what it would cost to have him shipped from Montana to your home. Give the offer a time limit of, say, a month. No negotiating, thatās it. Maybe if he hasnāt any offers, heāll go for yours. Good luck.
Hereās something a little funny. He said he could arrange shipping at his end. I could just see how this scenario would play out. Heād say send the money to him and heād contact the shipper. Iām sure heād add a few zeros to the price to go into his pocket.
