Undoubtedly :unamused:
But, being the Supreme Asshat he is, heā€™ll glean what real horsepeople tell him for nuggets he can post - like that ā€œcolic happensā€ crap - so he appears knowledgeable.
Until one or both of those horses Just.Canā€™t. & goes down for good.
Heā€™s like the delusional poster MahNavu (she of the buttboil son) on a mission.
All half-baked knowledge, not a grain of real skill.

One of the tictoks said he was riding with a local guide from a ranch, not sure what that means but makes me wonder about public shaming on his enablersā€¦

Iā€™m in.
How would that get done?

I was really hoping he was going to come through MT b/c I would have been on his tail.

Iā€™m not sure how to get right in his circle especially b/c I donā€™t follow tt or igā€¦ if he bounces his posts around itā€™s hard to tell what is going on at the moment. I have family in the area he is now I might poke aroundā€¦

There are also theories he went to ID for the day, attended another rodeo, posted the pictures to mislead, and still is in Jackson, WY area.

However, Iā€™d be more than OK if he did in fact trailer the horses through the pass into Idaho. We will see in the next couple of days Iā€™m sure, posting pictures on the road proclaiming how healthy and happy Pete is. :rage:

ETA: I have friends in ID/WY that say the weather is supposed to be bad for the next couple of days. Iā€™m sure heā€™s hulled up somewhere.

If he takes the path of least mountainous, heā€™d head south through Pocatello and across the plains, then back north through Boise, Oregon and then into Seattle. Iā€™m hoping he goes the other way, through MT and then back across ID and into Washington. However, I think the only way heā€™d do that is if he trailered most of the way through the rough terrain.

Actually, we know for sure Pete is carrying hefty parasite loadā€¦Cereal. :grinning:

the weather forecast for the next few days is wild and stormy. If he is smart he will hang low and then make his way over to the I 84 corridor.

most savvy social media posters do not post with immediacy, This hides their true location.

I agree with Paint Part 100% any attention is good attention and the fact that people are more invested in the horses than him likely irks him no end. If there truly is a commercial pack/dude ranch helping him I doubt he keeps them a secret to protect them, more to focus on himself.

He has now announced that his father has flown in to ride alongside him for a few days. I wonder if thatā€™s why Pete was saddled.

Right. This is the thing. The mare_stare account is talking about locating him and getting LE out to ā€¦ do what?

Under the laws as they are now, he is doing nothing illegal, unless Idaho has laws that arenā€™t common in other states.

Just per what has been seen in this thread, the horses have never been in a condition that would prompt immediate seizure anywhere that I am aware of.

There was the same big push while he was still in TX ā€“ get AC and/or LE to stop & seize. It was just wishful thinking. There were LE/AC encounters and they amounted to nothing. Thus further empowering Potatobrain to carry on.

I do hope that mare_stare knows more and can help move toward a seizure.

Iā€™ll say one more thing about a seizure ā€¦ those horses will end up frying-pan-into-fire. Probably better off if they are seized, at least for immediate relief, but still far, far from an ideal solution for them.

What happens after seizure is something we do not know for Idaho (unless someone does have that info). Keeping in mind that it can vary, county by county. Many jurisdictions require seized animals being disposed of at auction (so no favoritism with giving animals to certain people). Assuming that the sm attention and support saves them from killbuyers at auction, what then?

Both horses were purchased in TX. They are not acclimated to winters with prolonged below-freezing temps. Or even to cold weather that comes in early fall and doesnā€™t leave until late spring, as even north TX has a much shorter winter season.

But if seized, the horses will most probably end up permanently settled in the area of the seizure. Unless rescuers are willing to pony up a LOT to buy them out. And then put them ā€¦ wherever they choose to put them.

What is the long term future for each of these horses? With or without Knucklehead? Maybe the attention will help find them good permanent homes. But I have no faith that this is better than a 50-50 chance.

Oh god no.

Well, apparently willful ignorance and indifference is a heritable trait, if Cerealā€™s dad doesnā€™t see a problem with riding Pete.

Sadly, there isnā€™t anything stopping people from using animals in their stupid publicity stunts. Nothing stops poorly managed pony rides at the fair with sad little ponies tied to bars doing endless circles. Nothing stops roadside zoos in many states. Nothing even stops rodeos from using cattle prods to get horses to really jump out of the chute (though rodeo associations swear they donā€™t use those anymore). Even canned pigeon shoots, which are pretty freaking horrific, are still perfectly legal. And some states are still looking the other way with illegal racetracks and big lick horse shows. Animal welfare is not high on the list for states to prosecute. Nothing will stop Cereal from hopscotching across the West on his little fantasy ride.

Hmm. Perhaps a family intervention. They may be seeing more obvious crazy than we get to see and may know if he has a mental health history. Maybe his father gets to give him the wisdom that his Big Adventure is already accomplished and he can wrap it up now

Him saying ā€œhorses colic, you canā€™t prevent itā€ is like someone who keeps their horse in a junkyard lined with barbed wire saying ā€œhorses will find ANYTHING to hurt themselves with!ā€ Sure, colic and gruesome injuries can happen to any horse (including those given the best care possible), but that doesnā€™t mean there isnā€™t anything you can do to lessen the likelihood of it occurring.

I really try not to give him any of my thoughts or energy, but I canā€™t look away from this trainwreck. I fear that mare_stare and the other tik-tokers are doing more harm than good. Theyā€™re feeding the ā€œfauxrageā€ machine and giving him exactly what he wants - more attention. Heā€™s using the attention to play victim and drum up the sympathy card. You can see it in his recent posts. He looks like heā€™s loving all the attention heā€™s getting, even if itā€™s negative. The way he panders to the camera makes me sick

This isnā€™t to say that I think what heā€™s doing is ok. I just think trying to stir up drama is ultimately the worst thing to do if you really want to help these poor horses. What they should be doing instead, Iā€™m not sure, but I donā€™t think making more outrage posts on tiktok/instagram is the best way to solve the problem.

I think youā€™re spot on. If everyone just ignored him, what would keep him going?

For people wanting to follow a long ride without the idiocy and lack of horsemanship, Iā€™d highly recommend Distant Skies by Melissa Priblo Chapman.

Thirding this.

I post their videos a lot, mostly because I refuse to give his Instagram or TikTok the views and they usually post them recorded. But youā€™re absolutely spot on.

It was also a huge surprise this morning when I saw someone post on FB that is dad was going to ride with him for a few days. I hope they both get caught up in a NASTY storm. :triumph:

Yes, thank you for posting them here so I donā€™t give any of them (Cereal or the ā€œFalcon expressā€ groupies) more clicks!

Thatā€™s why I joined the FB page.
Minimize clicks on TikTok :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

As for Cereal Sr joining the circus, can we hope Dear Dad has a teeny grain of sense &:
1- refuses to ride Pete
2-points out the idiocy of Jr?

I am hoping this means Dad will just ride in the truck with him. But Pete is ā€œoldā€ and horses :"just colic, "so he likely views Pete as disposable and replaceable.

Here is his TT video of dad arriving ā€“ ā€œMy dad flew down to ride with me for a couple of days.ā€

Wonder what they do with the load Pete is carrying now. It is spread around on the ground at the beginning. Can it go in the SUV that delivers dad to launch point? Or on the horses?

Wonder how much dad weighs. Of course at this moment Pete is not conditioned to carry dad, with or without other load.

Noticing that a lot of the video of travel is on flattish terrain. Interesting.

https://www.tiktok.com/@the_mare_stare/video/7243848712210943278?is_from_webapp=1

the_mare_stare put a date over the front of the video. But it should be 6/12, not 5/12. That would be the posting date, though, not the date it was taken.

How about all of the people ride in the SUV instead of on the horses?
