I really hope this a hole squashed his balls while on his journey of self discovery thus enabling him unable to reproduce.
Why sell horses in December? My guess is A) the horsekeeper(s) had enough, and/or the horses are finally recovered enough to sell.
I donāt think Froot Loops is ājonesing to get rid of these horses.ā Out of sight, out of mind, and itās been no trouble at all (for him!) to keep them. No work or expense for him, and he may be thinking of them as money in the bank. A lot of money.
Latest from the FB page shows a semi-realistic Reserve of $3500. So Falcon could go to a good home⦠As long as buyer doesnāt look at the SM link Asshat just had to put in the description.
What a Maroon
Falcon looks better, but no $60K horse.
He looks like a parti-colored gaited trail-type horse. There are hundreds like him.
Heās standing in snow. I think thatās the tell. He canāt keep living on free grass
Hey which of yāall wants a horse that has done 1500 miles in about 14 weeks? Under a total rando yokel who made a point of providing minimal care. How about paying a premium price?
Just a note on the auction info. A starting bid is not a reserve. Starting bids are frequently well under reserve. Itās low to get the psychological effect of active bidding under way.
It doesnāt say what the reserve is. They probably wonāt reveal that.
Heās standing like he has DSLD
I made it to one and one-half minutes on the sales video. That poor lame Pete being dragged alongā¦
That could just be because heās rocked back to look at the person taking the pictures.
For his sake, I hope that his rest period with what looks like good care has him in as good shape as possible, given his age and wear and tear. And that both he and the poor bay horse have soft landings.
My Bad , mistaking Start for Reserve.
I think 4ā:brain: is going to be surprised his Starting bid doesnāt get any interest.
Auction Pros, help me here:
I know he can No Sale, but do you think he will?
Or - LordHelpUs - maybe the Benefactor is behind the auction, has ownership proof & will accept whatever bid takes the horse?
At this point, Iām only happy to think about the battering his Ginormous ego is taking.
No Netflix.
No $60K.
No Everlasting Fame.
The $3,500.00 start bid is $500.00 over what he paid the lady in Tx. She was asking $4k and he offered $3k and she took it and delivered Falcon to the house he rents.
I am surprised it has taken this long for him to try to move them again.
I hope they get a soft landing too.
Another amazing feature of this horse his ability to bend time and space and be in two places at once. According to the sales ad, he is located in both Austin, TX and Victor, MT. Seems like that would make a bit of a difference to someone planning to pick up or ship the horse.
It looks like the minimal starting bid on every horse is $3,500. Cereal McCrunch would be wise to not have a reserve on Falcon, because most of the horses that have sold for a goodly amount seem to be either working ranch horses or ranchy draft crosses. A flashy yet lightly built gaited horse thatās been trail ridden by a phony poser? Not so much.
I think Cereal McCrunch is doing a private sale or donation with Pete because either the auction site declined taking him (they have that right) or simply because poor Pete is unsound. So itās another example of a nice old horse whoās done his job faithfully for many years, and now that heās old and creaky heās getting passed off.
Any idea of what the auctionās commission is?
Just wanted to add that I looked at the details of Falconās listing. Thereās an attached vet report thatās not much more than a basic health exam. Of note, however, is that the vet writes that the horse appeared sound āat the walk.ā The vet also noted that Falcon has a corpora nigra cyst in one eye and while he canāt be sure that itās not melanoma, that ācanāt be ruled out.ā
Unless someone is buying Falcon just to have Falcon-- like for purely altruistic reasons-- I cannot imagine anyone paying much for this horse through this auction site.
I have no doubt that someone will pay too much for him just to make sure he lands softly.
The journey attracted the attention of lots of people who want to rescue these horses from this owner.
I had the same question. But Iāve looked all over the site and canāt find anything beyond a $5. fee to register to bid. So Iām guessing you have to outright ask. Maybe Iāll just do that.
that is pretty much normal medical speak. Everything is potentially something else until proven otherwise
Looking through the website, even the highest selling horses on that site are below what Cyril initially wanted, and those horses are well presented, shiny and muscled. Poor Falcon looks uncomfortable in those recent photos. Not a horse youād look at twice, let alone pay big $$ for. I can only hope the reserve is low enough that someone can buy him and give him a good home, but I doubt Cyrilās ego could accept it. On Facebook there are reports that his original owner has tried to buy him back (she had a verbal agreement with CB to take him back for the $3K he bought him for). Surprise! He wonāt sell for that little. As for Pete, heās got to be in pretty rough shape if CB isnāt trying to sell him here.
In both of the photos taken in the snow the poor horse looks very uncomfortable and also has that right front leg out front. Could just be bad timing/photo but makes me questions his soundness. Also makes me want to put a blanket on him. I hope he has shelter at least
