$500 just to look? WTF?

I give Up!

Like I’ve said all along, you people don’t want answers, you want a lynching. I give up! Either they can’t read in Alabama or they speak a different language than I do. You wanted to hear from Liz, I told you what she had to say…as for calling her, that was her suggestion, not mine.

If you sent her an e-mail with a legitimate e-mail address she responded to it. Since I know her well, and I don’t know you from Adam (and given the ton of this thread I have no desire to), I believe that to be true.

As for your changing her policies, nothing has changed. If you read through the experiences that her customers have posted on this thread (of course not, that wouldn’t validate your witch hunt), you’d realize that.

As for BP…don’t let the froth coming out of your mouth stain your keyboard. I’ve had my first and last experience with COTH. I’m gone and you people are welcome to each other.

AP must have been Googling “Hypoallergenic Shackney Canadian Sporthorse Movie Stars”.

Hey, as long as they are 20M circles.

I’m sorry, but it is still entertaining. And from MM, it sounds like we haven’t hurt her business, but helped it (in more ways than one). So when I have been painstakingly updating boring hospital Web sites all day long, this is a good break because people on both sides continue to post.

HAHAHAHA

HAHAHAHA

Hey the Shackney

is the “runnaway” horse on the top of every page on the website.

I think I would change that pic.

But I’m just looking at the screen cause down hyah we Alabamians cain’t read.:stuck_out_tongue:

Actually the Shackney looks like a nice horse. But…Does VSH not believe in lunge lines? I’ve seen a few of their videos of horses running around an arena, stopping, turning, and running back…for sales purposes maybe they could use a different method…and run the stirrups up or cross them instead of having them bang the sides of the saddle. For a “professional” it looks pretty unprofessional, IMO.

Why no photos of a rider on these jumper prospects jumping higher than 2’? I mean, she says she trains as well as sells. Trainer must have been busy those days.

And I dont care WHAT horse you’re selling, common sense says pull the mane, wash and groom the horse, and put your best rider on for ADVERTISING purposes. Oh, I forget, she must be so busy selling and training that she can’t groom. Lord knows you have to pay extra for that if you want your newly purchased but yet unseen horse to arrive clean!

I am really confused as to why anyone really CARES what her policies are!! If you don’t like them, don’t buy a horse from her. I’m not particularly impressed by the horses she considers to be “premium” but to each his own. I for one would rather deal with someone who is upfront and lays everything out in writing than having some nasty miscommunication transpire. If this is how she chooses to do business and it works for her, then good for her. I don’t think I’d buy a horse from her, but that would be my choice.

This is the thread that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friend…

I think this thread is great. I have spent quite awhile reading it, and I think I pulled a muscle laughing:lol:

Her website defianetly is a little “different” then what I am used to in my horse buying adventures.

Sounds very cute  . Yes, I suppose we Argentines do show some promise in terms of riding, don’t we?

One of my favorite books was “Modern Riding” by Col. Toptani (Argentine!) He questioned the practice of poling, and as an experiment, set up low fences, and “galloped” around on foot, deliberately allowing his ankles/shins to hit the poles hard enough to knock them down. He found out it HURT!!! He decided that merely hitting the poles hard by themselves was punishment enough for any horse and disapproved of the practice. (I think the book was published in the 1950s, maybe '60s)

On the other hand, does anyone remember that TV program “The Horse in Sport”? Unless I’m much mistaken, I recall a sequence where Argentine horse"breakers" tied horses (Criollos - polo pony prospects?) to a upright post and encouraged them to buck. They held forth that if they did not buck, they had no spirit and would not make good polo ponies/cowponies.

Interesting. I don’t agree with poling OR the method of encouraging them to buck. There are plenty of good horsemen down there, as there are here in the U.S. Both countries have their fair share of bad horse practices as well, and Argentina could do much worse considering how weak their anti-animal cruelty laws are (if they have any real ones?).

I digress.

J Swan: NOW will you stop moaning about the loss of business this woman suffered? She has admitted to selling horses BECAUSE of this thread. She has obviously had PLENTY of business for the past few days. WHY in the world do you insist that he business and reputation are ruined? Good grief.

That pre-purchase vet exam was probably costing the buyer huge handling/transportation/restocking fees. And don’t even TRY to protest that fact, as it was posted on Liz’s website.

I do think it reflects well on her that she is reviewing the content and being friendly about the input.

Oh - I get it!

This whole thing was nothing more than a plan to get free advertising for this business.

In that case - COTH should send her a bill.

Tsk tsk - no advertising on the BB unless it’s paid for.

That’s not what I said. I said our discussion of her policies didn’t hurt her at ALL (and if they INCIDENTALLY gave her better business, my point still stands). You were wrong to bemoan how much business she lost. That’s all I’m saying. After all, you were claiming she could sue for lost business. From the sound of it, she most definitely could not.

I didn’t say anyone set out to give her free advertising, nor did I claim that this thread was started with altruistic intentions.

That was a joke, son.

Then would you care to respond seriously?

Nope. I ceased taking this thread seriously a while back. Now I’m just giving up and seeing, for the first time, how ridiculous all this has been!

Like William Shatner said on that oh so famous SNL episode years ago, “Get a life!”

But keep me in your thoughts - if I get a hot flash or my blood sugar drops I may indeed provide you with more entertaining fodder. Until then - you’ll just have to post to the others about why this person has not shown up for interrogation.

I’m just laughing now.

I think I might give up, too.

It’s like arguing with a bossy child.

DIE THREAD!!! PLEASE JUST DIE!!!

Business

Guess what we have to remember is that VSH is a BUSINESS, not a true horse person’s stable. I get the feeling she may as well be selling used cars instead of live animals. That’s some "marketing " technique she’s got, huh?
