$500 just to look? WTF?

OMG, thanks for the laugh… I’m one of those of office slaves and this thread is my salvation for the day. I’m guessing the horse noted above is some kind of Bashkir Curly cross (they actually are non-allergenic) but I guess they figure they can get more $$$ for a “hypoallergenic warmblood”! Oooh oooh, maybe that foal will eventually be “exposed” to one of the drafties and then they can sell “hypoallergenic magical gypsy vanner warmbloods”!! (Of course they’ll all be Prix St. George prospects and will require at least a $1000 viewing deposit).

Oh dear Lord, and you just KNOW some idiot is going to come along and think they got a true gem. A rarity. Athlete extraordinaire.

I actually knew a family once that were the type to buy horses from these people. They actually have a small business set up and their website is almost as unbelievable…just a much smaller scale. So, the clientele is out there, I guess.

Just as a random little question, are they legally allowed to call them Canadian Sport Horses?

I mean, I know when I was registering my guy, it was a pain in the arse to do. And his sire was fully approved by them!

What a horrible website. I’m amazed that ANYBODY would want to buy through them

Oreo is another one of our super “Police Horse bred” fillies. Her mother is a 1/2 sister to VENUS. She is only 3 yrs old, came in here BARELY halterbroke as a yearling. Liz spent 2 hrs with her in the stall and had her leading, tying, grooming and letting her pick up feet… The new owners started her entirely by themselves…no professional assistance…at 3 yrs old…she is a greenbroke “husband horse”…
</U>

You mean they sell majikal gypsy vanners, too?!?!

As for eliminating tire kickers – They appear to be going out of their way to eliminate any interested persons from checking out the horses.

Considering I paid $1400 for one of my horses and $750 for the other… I’d never pay $500 to just go try some horses.

I’ve got you beat, I think I’ve been on it over an hour now:o doing a few work related things in between posts of course.

This has to be a bean counter who is getting into the horse business.

BarbB

HEY!!! I’m a bean counter, I mean accountant, and I resent that remark! We’re BORING, not obnoxious and arrogant!!! Wait, that’s not really good either, is it?

Actually, they remind me more of used car salespeople, with wanna-be marketers.

They sell 1,000 horses per year…I wonder how many of those were actually “liquidated” rather than sold??? :frowning:

More like a horsey Big Lots…

these are Canadian Sport Horses like I’m a ballerina with the National Ballet.

There was a shire/hackney cross at the meat sale last week. he sold for $300. so they can’t possible have the ONLY one in the whole wide world.

i’ve often considered billing people who make appointments and don’t show up, (not that I would really, but its a nice comforting thought) but this takes things to a seriously whole new level!!!

Its’got to be a spoof. or scam. or something.

Snork.

On their boarding contract is their location:

anybody close enough to check it out?

I can’t either! That site got my blood boiling so hot I feel like I have to go throw knives or something…

Canadian Sport Horses

Just to make sure there is no confusion, there is an official registry for “Canadian Sport Horses”. And it has nothing to do with draft type PMU offspring (although, to be fair, I do know of at least one warmblood breeder who used to keep mares on a line and produce PMU as well, I don’t think they still do). I would imagine the Canadian Sport Horse Association, would take EXTREME unction to someone calling these “Canadian Sport Horses”.

Bumpass is at the Richmond end of Louisa County. And it’s pronounced “bump-ess”, not BUMP ASS, as so many non-locals like to call it  It is pretty much hickville (I know, I’m originally from Louisa County). I’ll have to ask around to see if anyone knows this lady.

Could not stop myself. I quoted verbatim into the contact us…

So this town REALLY does exist? Lovely…

Thats how I interpreted it too…  I have to buy first, then Vet check later??

But then again, according to them, most Vets aren’t qualified to do a Vet check anyways and most owners couldn’t interpret them. So why bother??? lol

Yep, and Louisa County is pronounced Loo-eye’-sa, not Louise-a. We also have a Buchanan, pronounced Buck-a’-nan. I swear, it makes me nuts…

It’s okay. Georgia has a Buchanan too and it’s pronounced the same way.

I seem to recall a poster over on another horse BB that had connections to VSS. I might poke and see if she bought from them or what.

Bumpass… Couldn’t have come up with a more appropriately named location for these folks if you tried!
