My niece helping me lead my Quarter Pony.
This photo popped up in the email “on this day”. My horse was so funny, he always had to see what was going on. Twenty stall barn, (full) and everyone else eating dinner but he heard me walking and had to watch.
When I bought this horse he was so timid. He would just stand perfectly still with zero emotion and he was not the attention seeking type, always cautious. Slowly he began to come out of his shell and ended up being a cheeky funny guy with a lot of personality. On this day we were trying to take pics and he WOULD NOT stop rummaging around in my hair! I never wear it down so he was kinda obsessed and maybe a little confused like,” what is all this?”
This is my childhood horse that put up with more sh*t than any horse should. She really was a saint. I have this photo framed on my desk. When I went to college, she went to someone that worked for my dad and lived a long happy live with her until her early 30’s.
I have too many photos of Charlie, but swimming is def on our top hits list:
My niece was having her graduation photos taken at my farm, and she loves my old horse, Chico. While she was finishing up getting ready, I was holding him for her. The photographer snuck a photo. I love this old horse. He’s now 31.
I always liked this picture of me & Elwood when he was a yearling. He was a sweet and inquisitive colt.
When I was last showing (AA Hunters) I had a Thoroughbred mare who didn’t do well being stalled for three days at a time. In the mornings, she didn’t need to be lunged or worked down, she just needed to be out. So every morning I’d get to the showground at 6 am, and take her out to graze. A friend snapped this pic and sent it to me.
My pretty girl. She was obsessed with the owners foal in the next pen. For about 2 weeks, she acted like the filly was an alien. Made for a good picture though.
Thank you. Not bad for an old lady. She turns 23 this year. I think that picture was 3 years ago?
My profile pic was in her younger days. I like the 4 off the floor…she could fly.
This is so beautiful! I think I remember correctly that you have a Morgan? Please submit that photo for the AMHA calendar contest this year, it’s a sure winner!
