Aiden update.. Posted Pictures! Must end the Aiden thread. Aiden is doing excellent. THANK YOU COTH!!! (137) 1/23

Aiden looks great Lisa - tubes and machines or no tubes and machines, that is ONE pink little baby - yippee!! I’m so glad to hear you all had a restful night.

But Lisa, “a hundred aunties and uncles across US and Canada”?? More like a THOUSAND!!!

EricaR, tears came to my eyes reading about your dream - yes I believe!

And June’s mom - you better believe the judge in that leadline class will be in BIG trouble from MANY aunties and uncles if Aiden doesn’t bring home the blue ribbon!! I can picture the stampede on the judges stand…

This is just the best news ever!

Susan

YEAH!!! Go Aiden! Way to go little guy - keep it up! I’m planning on coming back down as soon as I hear you are in your room upstairs and I can see you awake and smiling.

Lisa - take care of yourself and enjoy the progress. He’s going to be up and running around in no time at all. {{{{HUGS}}}} to all of you!

Norsire - I’m more than willing to supply the pony for Upperville - all decked out and ready to go!

I was just stunned when I read the thread title.

My heart goes out to the family that lost their little one. Through such a loss, to find the strength and compassion to give such a generous gift leaves me in awe.

Aiden as the saying goes, today is the first day of the rest of your life. And may it be a long and healthy life full of all the love you deserve.

I’ve been jingling away every day since we began this journey…but I am so scared now…kick on Aiden, you are one little fighter!

thank you eqchik and knowonder for the updates- Lisa, make sure you get some rest too…
you are going to need it!
this is wonderful, wonderful news…
kick on Aiden! you are doing great!

I’ve enlisted my three cats to jingle away, and to send thoughts of relaxing slumber to Aiden. They are very good at practicing the art of relaxing slumber.

Hang in there little Aiden; we’re all looking forward to meeting you one day!

Did you and Sara know each other before you “met” on the COTH boards?

Great news about the tests… we’ll all keep jingling for the biopsy results to come back clean!

Thrilled to hear the good news!!!

Dreaming of pinto ponies!

Miracles do happen. If this isn’t proof, I don’t know what is.

God Bless the Hawks and the brave, generous donor family. A part of their child will live on through Aiden. I hope in the future, when they are ready, that the donor family will have the opportunity to read about this whole story of Aiden. Maybe they can receive some comfort from this story in their time of grief.

RolexH and Knowonder here–we are done with the testing for today. Knowonder came throught the physical and the psych exam with flying colors!

Her CT Scan went well and we are still waiting for them to be read–as soon as we hear from the doctor, we will post it!

Knowonder here–
If everything is good, we start again at 7am with the Arteriogram–during which they will thread a catheter through my femoral artery–that’s right the one in my groin! Then they get to use an even larger needle through my side to do a liver biopsy. I then must lay perfectly still for 6 hours so my vein will clot properly during which time they will do an EKG, Echo, abdominal ultrasound and chemical stress test on my heart–yipee!

We have the evening to ourselves so we are going to go out and eat at a fancy restaurant (if we can find one) then EqChick will be meeting up with us later in the evening to just hang out. sara nad I are like kids, we have this room with two singlebeds… slumber party. Unfortunatly we get to wake up to a less than pleasant day.

Knowonder here
Lisa is about to drive herself crazy trying to type and think at the same time–I promise we will post as soon as we hear from the doctor with the results from the CT Scan–I’m taking her to dinner while she can still walk and talk.

More later–we love you guys.

What great news…

But let’s be sure to keep jingling, because he’s not out of the woods yet… but we know what a fighter he is!

Go, Aiden, go!

How wonderful, Lisa - I am so happy for you May Aiden’s days continue to get even better!

Here’s a good link from the Red Cross that gives a lot of information about the basic criteria for being a blood donor:

American Red Cross - Learn About Blood Donation

Your local blood collection agency may have slightly different rules, but this should give you a general idea.

(Be strong, Aiden… kick! kick! kick!)

Eyes up, Kick on, dear Aiden!

looks like we all got what we want for christmas! I’m so so happy!

My daughter wonders why I’m crying and laughing at the same time, I just tell her because it’s a Christmas miracle. But she does know about Aiden, and wants to draw him a picture, so we’ll be sending that along with his get well card.

Way to go baby boy!

Love,
Jane, Max, and julia

I am just rolling with laughter right now. Man… is THAT a nice feeling!

I’m so overwhelmed with joy! I feel like we all just won the lottery! What a wonderful, wonderful Christmas Miracle. I know I as well as others have said all this before…but I just can’t help but say it all again!
I pray that baby Aidens body will process the fluid…and get rid of all that is not needed.
I pray that his body will continue to accept god’s wonderful gift…his liver.
I pray that Pneumonia will stay far, far away from that precious baby!
I pray that he is off his ventilator for Christmas!
I pray for Lisa and Joey to keep the strength that they will continue to need through this phase.

You are always, on my mind…you are always, on my mind!

My thoughts, prayers and jingles continue to be sent your direction. Everything is still crossed tight as can be~
We love You Hawk family! Thanks Sarah for keeping us updated! I think most of us would go insane if it wasn’t for you!
