I went to the COTH chat but no one was there…unless I did it wrong?
Great news about Aiden! He is like the little engine that could! He jsut keeps getting better and better, amazing us every day!
Knowonder, I hope you are feeling better! We definitely would NOT want anything to happen to Aiden’s guardian angel!
Lisa, give Aiden a big smacking kiss from all of us. And, does Joey have brothers in New York?
Here am I bawling my eyes out reading your post, and laughing at the same time trying to picture you explaining Aiden’s Christmas gift to the folks at Target …
This is SO fitting. No other way to describe it that he got his new liver in time for Christmas and that all the issues with it were addressed and resolved in time for Christmas.
Neat to hear that he has BIG veins! Won’t that be a babe magnet in the years to come (hey baby - wanna hear about my BIG VEINS?!) They’ll probably whack him one …
Lisa - this is the best possible news. Give his little finger a squeeze from all his aunties and uncles who love him very very much

Oh Lisa, hugs to you, Joey and Aiden from Kansas. I’m keeping fingers crossed and sending more prayers…

This is the first time I’ve posted on this thread, but I check it every day. I’m crying now as I read about Aiden’s new liver. I’ll say a prayer for both Aiden and for the family who has lost their child.
Early Merry Christmas, Aiden & Family!
Arizona’s on Mountain time part of the year, and on Pacific time part of the year, because we don’t “do” Daylight Saving Time.
Right now, it’s 2 hours earlier here than it is on the East Coast, where the COTH BB servers are.
The sun is now up (just after 7:30), and I’m still sending strengthening thoughts towards Atlanta.

The little guy looks absolutely terrific!
If he can look this good after what he’s been through recently, you are going to have your hands quite full when he’s feeling better!
Yay, Aiden!

Hey guys–sorry we’ve beem remiss. Aiden has hit anither BUMP in the road–he has Cytomegalovirus or CMV–this is a fairly common virus and post-transplant immune suppressed babies can get it easily–the biggest problem with it is that it really affects the liver and could potentialy cause rejection.
The doctors are very hopeful as this was caught early and he was immediately started on anti-viral medication. He isn’t eating more than about 2-4 oz so the NG tube will probably be put back in. He got transfused on Friday and is doing fairly well overall. EqChick has taken Lisa for a horse fix and Joey has gone to catch some sleep while his parents stay with the Lion Prince.
Everything else is going OK–I haven’t been down there since I have had the flu/chest cold and wouldn’t go near there with any chance of being contagious. I’ll post more as soon as we know more. Keep your prayers coming–we are at the beginning of a long year of ups and downs and I can’t tell ypu what your support means to us all!!!
Love you guys!

I checked in again tonight hoping for good news . Will keep on praying for Aidan. Lisa, you and Joey have helped him through so much already this must just be another bump in the road. Please keep us updated when you have time.
Oh talloaks , I realize your son does not need my prayers but know that my thoughts are with you.
That’s three times today! that I got all teary eyed. Lordy, lordy, I’m a mess. Great Great Wonderful news. Y’all have taught me to NEVER give up hope!
Here’s to continued success.
Hello, all - this is acutally EqChick posting for Lisa:
I just talked to Lisa and Sarah is recouperating from this morning’s tests. She is apparently a little sore, and Lisa says she’s uncomfortable, Sarah says that’s crazy talk… you can decide for yourselves. We all hung out last night, and had a great time. Sarah is so brave for going through all of these tests! (IMHO )
No results from the tests yet, but wanted to let you know that the tests went okay, and Sarah is on her way to more tests later this afternoon.
Keep those jingles going hoping she gets back to feeling normal VERY quickly, and the remainder of the tests are painless and quick! Also pray for the results to be good (whatever the good thing might be). Either Lisa or Sarah or me will update again as soon as I have news!!
Thanks so much for all your prayers you guys - it’s really nice to know when I see my friends going through this stuff that I’m not the only one out there worried to death. Your words are comforting to so many people in so many ways - you’re great!
Lisa

and Spot is right, we never know when one of us might be in a similar position…
I just read an article in the paper yesterday about a policman in the US who was terribly burned in a car accident while on the job. I was so moved reading about his courage and determination, and the love his wife showed for him, and thought while reading it how quickly life can change… and none of us knows when or how. We should all be grateful everyday for what we have. And try not to get caught up in the pettiness of the everyday. (easier said than done). I think of you every day Lisa, Joey and Aiden.
Well drat…
Hugs and kisses to the little man! And hugs to you and Joey (don’t think I should be sending kisses to you or your husband!! )

Well, I am crying (tears of happiness) again…
What a wonderful step towards going home!
I'm an organ donor. Are you?
Oh no. Praying and jingling and jangling and praying. Hang in there, Aiden.
Yippie! That is fabulous news! The little lion is kicking on!
In the jungle the mighty jungle our little lion is sleeping fine…wee-mo-wip o’ wee-mo-wip o wee-mo-wip[o’wee-mo-wip…
I have yet to have responded to any of these threads. I get too emotional when I do and do not trust anything I say. After reading them, I love Aiden as much as I love my own nephew Ethan and he is constantly in my prayers. I myself believe God gives these challenges to prove the greatness of the one with the challenge. Aiden has proven himself over and over how amazing he is. A gift from God himself.
My prayers and love to all of you.

Knowonderwoman - you are an inspiration to all of us!
You have no idea how much we all wish that we had your strength of character, (and health) to be able to GIVE to the extent that you are. You have all of our thoughts and LOVE behind you.

Have spent more time today thinking of Knowonder – and hoping that if she was going through all this it was to a wonderful purpose – than working. This is just the best Christmas news we could hear! Hang tough Lisa and Sara – you are amazing and this is the right time of year for the sort of miracle you need – and we are all praying and jingling for!!
Kate
Hoo hoo!
I am ecstatic for you, Lisa! Never had any doubt that our sweet virtual nephew had the fight in him.
