Aiden update.. Posted Pictures! Must end the Aiden thread. Aiden is doing excellent. THANK YOU COTH!!! (137) 1/23

Judging by the more than 10,000 views on this thread, there are plenty of us who are happy for any updates you can offer, Lisa, but as always, our prayers and jingles will be there no matter what, update or NO update!!

Adding a jingle for Joey’s flu too!

This is such good news!

So glad to hear that it went well. May he continue to heal uneventfully in the days to come. I hope some of the Hawk family got a little sleep last night. I know that, thanks to Kno-Wonder Woman’s update, I did. (And she is just as pretty on the outside as she must be on the inside – thanks to whoever posted her picture.)

Yesterday, when I noticed mid-day, there had been about 18,000 views of this thread. I just saw that now there are over 23,000…

That’s A LOT OF US who were on pins and needles all day yesterday.

"If wishes were horses, then beggar's would ride.

WOO-HOOOOOOOOO!!!

Could not be better news!

What if the Hokey Pokey IS what its all about?

We live in a world where we are, for the most part, cut off from touching, from feeling…we have concrete and computers and smog.

We have agendas and social situations and therapy.

We have PC and contractual obligations and MTV.

So, many of us turn to horses…great wondrerful creatures with a bit of wildness lurking in the limbic region of the brain…soft furry partners in delving into the mystery of creation. Pushing back the envelope by trying to communicate with another species…

and now, right in our midst, we have this wonderful, brave little boy, a human being on the edge of the abyss, a wonderful soul, our own miracle, come to remind us that it all, always, boils down to this: life and death.
We have two lives, two children, their souls and beings forever more intwined…

Love while you can.

Life and death.

Oh yes, make no mistake, Aiden. We are praying for you and praying therefore for ourselves.

With all my heart, how I hope the new liver keeps figuring out what it has to do.

Life and death.

You go, baby!
We are all rooting and praying and whooping and hollering.

keeping the faith through the next update, which I believe will be good-- No–GREAT news!

Wont be long now before the little monkey is throwing all the stuff out of his crib and laughing as everyone runs to pick it up!

Way to go Little Simba!!!

Love Auntie “Spot”

Lisa - with EricaR starting the shopping blitz - we should ask - do you have a L A R G E vehicle with you to bring all of this stuff home with you?!
Maybe you need a Beverly Hillbillies type vehicle where you can tie a bunch of stuff on the roof too!

hee hee hee …

It IS nice to laugh and make silly jokes now, isnt it?!

“Spot”

CONGRATULATIONS!!! It won’t be long now before little lionheart is out of the hospital completely!!! I’m so happy for ya’ll; will have to come visit again soon!

Hooray!!! I am SO HAPPY this thread is being closed, because that means your beautiful baby is healthy and ready to start his new life.

Thank you, Lisa and Joey, for sharing Aiden’s story with us. You’ve brought a huge group of people together and really proved the power of prayers, good wishes, and curb chain jingles You’ve been such a source of bravery, grace, and inspiration to us all - I marveled at your courage in every post. I hope that if I’m ever faced with a situation one iota as tough as what you guys have gone through, I have the same amount of strength and grace that you’ve showed throughout this whole ordeal.

And, of course, thanks to that wonderful family who had the kindness and generosity to give the gift of life to others despite their own unimaginable loss. I hope one day they get to meet that wonderful pink-cheeked baby to whom they gave a second chance at life.

Way to go, baby Aiden!! We all knew you could do it!

Alright! This is great news! This is going to be a good week! Let us know if you will be “the lucky one” as soon as you can!

Hello everyone - this is EqChick here signing in for Lisa to update the thread. The Hawks received “Good News” for the first time in a long time this morning. Through the night, Aiden’s lab numbers turned remarkably for the better. His ammonia levels are down, the LFT’s are down again, and overall liver functions look good. The one issue now is that Aiden has taken on a lot of fluid, which raises the risk of pneumonia. He is highly immune-suppressed right now, to keep his body from rejecting the new organ, so pneumonia would be a difficult battle to fight.

But, for now - everything looks much better than last night, so we’re headed in the right direction! At some point yesterday, the doctors did raise concern that the liver Aiden received might not have been a good match, which terrified Joey and Lisa. This morning, Dr. Heffron (the surgeon) said he thinks this liver looks viable after all!!!

So, we still play the waiting game. I ask that you pray for Aiden’s body to process the fluid so he can start looking more like a normal baby, and he doesn’t even THINK about getting pneumonia. I also pray that Aiden is able to come off the ventilator soon. Lisa was saying to me last night that if they couldn’t get upstairs by Christmas to the normal rooms and had to stay in the PICU, that she just asks that he gets off the ventilator. What a wonderful gift that would be!!

As far as Lisa and Joey are holding up, I am really impressed with how they have been handling things. I think they both realize that if they don’t sleep or eat until he wakes up, that they won’t be strong enough to support him when he needs them. So they’ve been rotating shifts to get power naps, and they’re eating. I know I for one was really glad to hear that!

Okay, I’m going to end this post now so you can all read it - might post under my own identity with some more thoughts…

Keep praying hard!!! It’s working!!!

Save a life, be an organ donor

Some things are meant to be!! I am so glad I checked back one last time before I went to bed. My mother always says if you worry about something enough it will be okay – with all of us fretting about Aiden and now Knowonder it has to all come out right!

A Prayer for Aiden

Dear Lord,

We thank and praise You for Aiden’s life. We ask that You continue to hold him in Your embrace and stroke him with Your healing hand,to calm his racing heart,to take away his pain.
Let this precious little boy lie peacefully against his daddy’s chest and in his mother’s waiting arms. Let all the systems of his body flow in perfect balance and harmony. Let him gain in strength and joy with each passing hour. Allow him to kick and to smile.

Thank You for Your grace and peace. Amen

Just talked to Lisa–AIDEN SMILED AT HER!!! Not just an “I wish he would smile” half grin–but a big smile with arms waving and reaching for his MOMMY!!! I can’t tell you how happy that made her!

He is well on his way to that wicker basket!!!

I am working late on a great night since I didn’t have to wait until tomorrow for today’s update! Go stuff yourselves silly guys, have a lot of laughs and sleep well. Knowonder, I knew I should have sent you a certificate for a Brazilian Bikini Wax - I think I’m jealous as I haven’t had anything near my groin in 2 years other than a saddle (and the wax technician, but that is too painful to count). OOH too much information. Anyway, praying for you both, rest up and we will all be thinking of you guys tomorrow!

Praying but anxious…thanks for letting us know the update, Weatherford…

Praying for our baby to keep chugging up his road to recovery. And praying for Lisa and Joey and the doctors.

Hang in there little guy - keep your eyes up and focused on the next jump. We’re praying for you.

This is my best Christmas ever.
Such wonderful news.
Thank you, Lord.

Bless the families of organ donors too.
