Dear Hawk Family and Sarah,

Your faith and love is a true example of the spirit and wonder of Christmas. Thanks letting us witness your true faith, and God’s grace. It makes us all better people. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Good wishes and prayers from Colorado.

Awww he looks like a little angel in that picture, with the horsey watching over him.

It’s 2pm on Christmas Eve and it just started snowing! I immediately thought of Aiden and ran outside with the camera to take some pictures (attached). This precious baby has once again instilled the real meaning of Christmas in each and everyone one of us. Aiden and family, I am so happy that your Christmas miracle is coming true. Keep at it little baby, you’ve already proven that you are stronger then most of us can even dream of being in our lifetime. You are going to have the biggest, loudest, and most teary eyed cheering section at your first horse show. You think we are cheering for you now, you just wait!!

Glad to hear little Lionheart is on the mend! My vote is that he make an appearance at Rolex 2003, where I will just so happen to be!

That was beautiful. Thank you tears streaming…

Praying for a Christmas miracle for Aiden, 'tis the season for miracles you know

WAHOOOOOOOOOO!!! This is great! You know he is doing great when the updates come fast and furious! This is such wonderful news! Can’t wait to hear that Lisa and Joey are holding him! I can hear a collective “whinny of joy for our little colt” coming from this COTH herd!!!

Congratulations! I haven’t posted before, but I have been following Aiden’s story. I can’t wait until tomorrow morning when my twin daughters wake up. I can tell them that Aiden got his new liver on their 11th birthday! Just an extra something special. I like to tell them miracle stories with amazing acts of generosity. I am happy that the parents of the donor can at least salvage something positive from their baby’s death. My heart goes out to them. At least some part of their loved one will live on.

I wish that I could have been Sara, but too old, and I wonder if I would have had the fortitude. Her bravery is amazing.

Best of luck Aiden. I’ll jingle my curb chain.

I can’t wait to see the little guy either! I think we should plan a little get together for the end of January if all goes well…hmmmmmmmmm I’ll need to plan that one with Eqchick and other COTH’ers–anyone with ideas, dates, suggestions–email me

Congratulations on very exciting news! I haven’t posted, but have been “checking in” on Baby Aiden every day. I can’t imagine the struggle you’ve gone through. I’m so glad that the light is appearing at the end of the tunnel.

This is some roller coaster…

with more ups and downs than anyone ever expected. The good news is, we’re all here behind you, lifting you back up, and with a lot of help from above we will keep right on lifting until you can go by yourself.

Keep hanging in there you amazing Hawkes…soaring can’t be far away.

Fabulous news!!! It so wonderful to hear Aiden is going home. Best wishes, what a great start to the new year.

I think that this is a GREAT sign!!! I don’t think the surgeons would close him up if they thought that he might need more surgery! GO AIDEN!

What if the Hokey Pokey IS what its all about?

I was in Atlanta this weekend with Luckyduck. We were both so excited on Saturday morning when we learned of the transplant. We wanted to go be supportive, but we decided we ought to wait until he got out of surgery, as the family might need to be alone…

We realized (unfortunately) that we’d likely not be allowed to visit Aiden or his family due to strictly enforced sterility rules. That meant we couldn’t go.

We followed the threads all weekend. When I got to the airport, I called Duffy, and he shared the latest news, which wasn’t really good…

When I arrived at the W’burg airport, I turned on the radio and heard Faith Hill’s “Where are you Christmas” and began crying about Aiden…

I called Luckyduck and she gave me GREAT news that things had begun to stabilize…I was overjoyed!

I know Aiden isn’t out of the woods as of yet, but I feel so much hope in my spirit right now.

I have called all the non-horse people I can think of, and they are all praying for the family, especially Aiden

Please be strong, sweet angel…
