** ALERT! -- Free Horse-Related Kindle Book -- ALERT! **

FArmattic, LOVED the first 3 books! Can’t wait for book 4!!

I read the first one and loved it too—now for the others!

I posted this yesterday but it did not work for some reason:

A Pony For The Fair (The Gypsy Pony)
Moore, Inge

http://www.amazon.com/Pony-For-Fair-Gypsy-ebook/dp/B00AUA75X0/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1377113399&sr=1-1&keywords=A+Pony+For+The+Fair+(The+Gypsy+Pony)+ Moore%2C+Inge

It is still free, and from the sample I read online, seems to be fairly well written and punctuated. Children’s book primarily, but I intend to read it. I have those kind of days.

This book isn’t kindled yet, but it is available in audio, a young adult story (but I happen to love it, and re-read it every year or so). http://www.amazon.com/The-Absolutely-Perfect-Horse-Novel/dp/B0062P6PV0/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1377113479&sr=1-1&keywords=the+absolutely+perfect+horse
The Absolutely Perfect Horse: A Novel of East Texas [Unabridged] [Audible Audio Edition]
by Ardath Mayhar
It will make you cry. Guaranteed. It’s worth getting for yourself and the youth readers of the household.

A wonderful adventure story for children set in the outback of Australia. Also suitable for adults who like an inspiring story about the outback, horses and children achieving their dreams. Beautifully written by an English teacher/ journalist who lived in the outback for many years.
Sunhaven Downs, a drought ravaged cattle station in outback Australia, is the home to Dane, Lani and Matthew Winter, three young outback riders whose lives centre around their horses. When their city cousin, Amy King, is left there for a year and declares that she hates horses, they know their lives are ruined. What they don’t know is that Amy has a secret - a secret she is desperate to keep from her outback family, something that will ultimately save their lives – but not all of them - on the night the drought breaks.
This is the first book in The Outback Riders series which follows the lives of these four children and their friends as they grow up in the outback with their horses and, ultimately, represent their country in their chosen horse sports (eventing, polocrosse, jumping, reining, cutting). It is approximately 36,000 words or just under 100 print pages and, as the introduction to the series, is the shortest of the books.

Book Two, “Horses Of The Light” is now available and is 70,000 words and filled with excitement, adventure, some sadness and the start of a life-long romance.

Sam
Ruthie is an angry, sassy-mouthed kid obsessed with ponies. Her incessant begging for a pony has driven her parents to the end of their patience. Ruthie’s luck changes when her family goes upstate to live on The Farm. She gets - not the pretty pony of her dreams - but Sam, who is huge, ugly, and has some anger issues of his own.

Kid and horse work out their problems and fall in love, while her parent’s marriage disintegrates and her Dad leaves. Rough times follow; Ruthie feels that the whole world has turned against her. Lash out at the world though she may, she holds tight to her horse, who carries her through the raging storms of her adolescence. Will she learn Sam’s lessons in patience and understanding? Can she save herself, her family, and her horse? Sam knows the answer.

Bluegrass Undercover - free today.

Here’s another tip - I’m sure you’ve all got lots of books on your wishlist - check them daily if possible to see which of the kindle ones have gone on sale or free. I’ve found several of my wish list books with those sales underway, and it’s a nice surprise. You can split your wishlists and put all the kindle stuff on one list to make this process quicker. I have 3 wishlists, and the main kindle one is about 10 pages.

I snapped it up. It was a good read, and I thought the horse stuff was pretty accurate.

Oh Lordy - this is a series that is VERY EASY to get sucked into; ask my debit card LOL but worth it! Fun and lively, and makes you want to start Googling this town

THis isn’t a free book, (only 3.99) but it’s about an H/J rider who struggles with Bipolar: http://www.amazon.com/Uglier-ebook/dp/B00E7827B6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1379376665&sr=8-1&keywords=Uglier

On page 78 there is an interesting theory about somerset saddles

I tried to get through Bluegrass Undercover and just couldn’t :frowning: Just curious, though, if there is actually a horse ever in the book.

This popped up on its own thread - not free but apparently accurate on a lot of things.
