My local tack store doesn’t carry these and I wanted to see what other people thought before I ordered one.
Im in S Louisiana and we have heat and humidity 80% of the year, so the mesh is very appealing.
Thoughts? Love? Hate?

No insight, but I am interested to hear everyone’s responses as well
I have the navy one and I will 100% enable you to buy one. They are incredible! It gets hot and humid here in PA too and when I put this on its almost weightless. Kinda feels like work-out clothes. I will NEVER wear another jacket in the summer again (especially if I buy the green one they just came out with!). After having it I would pay double to buy another one, that’s how amazing it is. For reference, I wear a 4 or a 6 in RJ jackets and am wearing an XS in the AA. Hell, I’d buy another just because I’m an XS in something
You can see that the jacket is mesh up close but not from 10 feet away. I have gotten a lot of compliments on it. See below- obviously indoors with the cutest boy in the world, Clay
Any other feedback on these coats? My local tack shops don’t carry and I’m not sure about sizing. Thanks!
ReturnCall - you look great and your horse is adorable!
I have one. I wore it to one show. It was super. Also a 4 in most things and XS in that jacket
I just got the hunter green one, after searching for a perfect green hunt coat for years! I love it!!! I am 5’11" with a long torso and usually wear a 6-8 street clothes. I got the medium and it fits great.
I bought the navy one on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! If you haven’t been able to see it up close, it is basically a mesh that looks solid and you can only tell is mesh until you are super close. It is stretchy and comfortable and comes with different buttons to use if you want something more subdued. The AA logo is also removable so that you can remove if you do not want it to be so loud. I would say it runs a bit small, so I would size up if you are between sizes. I love it and can’t wait to show this summer!
I have an Equiline X-Cool that is also very lightweight for summer as well.
For those of you that have this jacket, what’s the length like? I have a short torso. My Grand Prix Techlite is a short. I’m so tempted to get this now that I’ve seen it!
I have the FITS version… and it is amazing when its hot and humid out. the only thing i don’t like about it is that you have to be careful not to snag it on things… my boyfriend’s mare has a nasty habit of trying to rub her head on you after a ride, so I was always worried the bride would catch and rip the jackets. But it does seem to hold up just fine… just makes me a little nervous.
I also have the FITS version, and quite like it. You really can’t tell that it’s mesh unless you’re examining the fabric, and it’s so nice in the summer for eq classes where jackets aren’t optional.
Can you order a couple of these from somewhere that allows easy returns to try a couple different models on and see how they fit you? For example, the FITS coats run a bit long, which is great for me, but the GPs run short and are a no-go for me.
Thanks for the info! I ended up finding a great deal on the Horseware Tech coat in hunter green, but have a friend interested in the AA coat. I’ll pass the info along to her.
Thanks again!
I tried this on in black, and am trying to decide if I should get it for the hunters. I’m in Virginia and hVe a show next weekend, calling for 90 degree temps. Does anyone have it in black? I was concerned you can see a white shirt through it… also wear a 6 in RJ Classics and the Medium seemed to fit me best. The small was just a little too snug. But I’d have to get the mediums sleaves shortened.
I recently got one and I love it. I didn’t think it’d work for me because I am 5’11 and long limbed but it does! For sizing I wear a 32/34 show shirt, small in essex talent yarn and Kastel and a 4 street size. I got a small in the MotionLite. Fits perfect.
okay definitely out for me, I was worried it would be long (it looks long in the pics) and there is no way it would fit me if the SM fits someone 5’11".
If it helps I also wear a small and I’m 5’6" and I think it looks great. I wear a 14 slim Grand Prix jacket for reference. I love this coat, I think the stretch of the fabric makes the jacket fit many shapes and sizes.
I’m 5’1", I don’t think there’s any way that a coat that fits someone 5’11" or 5’6" is going to be the right length on someone that short.
For anyone still interested in an AA MotionLite, I finally got a review of it up on my blog- including pics of me wearing it. Might help those on the fence!

I hand wash mine, just because, well it cost enough $$$ to not take the chance. Love the jacket.
I was up at a show this weekend where the temperatures got up into the 90s so I took the plunge and got the AA in black… I LOVE this jacket. I’m 5’7 and generally wear a 34 or 36 in show shirts. The small fit jacket fit me very well. It is incredibly stretchy and you do get a breeze through the material. You can remove the Albanese pin from the lapel if you want a more classic look, which I did to show in the A/A hunters but I saw quite a few other women in my division with the coat in various colors wearing the pin.
