Altech National Horse Show
If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. Others are getting a good quality feed, or are enjoying watching it as is. Why should you “ruin” it for everyone?
If I COULD watch it I would! How you ever got that I was “ruining it for everyone” is beyond me! There are 19 pages here of gripes about the feed. I don’t think that I am the only one that is disappointed in the coverage!

From your post:
Of course it is wonderful that someone sponsors a live feed, but if you can’t do it right, don’t do it. We’ll survive.
Did you call the number Volar video posted? Maybe they can help you.

I have been a lurker on these boards for almost 15 years (and a Chronicle subscriber even longer), and only started posting more during last years Olympics.

I am really alarmed at how many members seem to forget that this is a public forum, and people are allowed to have a different opinion than you. And that they have every right to express those opinions without being slammed by people who claim to know better/more.

If you don’t agree with another persons opinion, you can certainly say so, but the tone and aggression of some responses is totally inappropriate. It may be worth looking over your reply before hitting post, because I at least hope not everyone means to come off the way that they do.

As for the comments about Alltech, I believe pretty much everyone has said they appreciate Alltech’s sponsorship. Some people have done so politely and some perhaps not so politely (from FB etc) but it is because some of us have informed Alltech that there are some major issues with the feed that they have been making improvements to it. So far from “ruining” it, it has gotten better, and many of us have been thanking Alltech and iHigh and their vendor for their efforts.

My comment was directed to the posters quote that said “if you can’t do it right don’t do it at all.” That poster has every right to not like the feed, they can choose not to watch it, but it unfair for them to indicate that there should be no feed if it cannot be of the quality they want or if their technical issues cannot be overcome. I was not being hostile, I was being honest. And frankly all of the negative commentary is more likely to get Alltech to drop the feed all together – they have said they were working on it since long before people started slamming them. But the slamming of a major sponsor has certainly been incessant.

Alltech and their parties made no comment on any of this until today, after at least 70 comments on USEF Networks FB page, a number on the Alltech National Horse Show page, emails to Alltech’s PR department directing them to this thread, comments on iHigh by many of us, and I think even a comment from a COTH user to the camera man who she is sitting near at the NHS. I know many of us (myself included) thanked Alltech for offering the live feed, but explained that it was practically unwatchable due to the distorted picture and that we hoped it would be fixed soon or that they would allow USEF Network to assist them.

My other comments were based on the members as a whole and no person in particular, though from the response from anotherera, something was clearly not taken as you intended.

I think the scariest part about the board is that no one seems to give people the benefit of the doubt. They seem to assume the worst and start attacking the other person on the grounds that they were being malicious. Having an opinion you don’t like doesn’t equal malicious. Cut people a break.

Not directed at one person in particular.

Anyone have a feed for this session yet?

yup

My point was their statements have indicated that they have been working to improve the feed since first hearing any feedback. I take that to mean that the comments or direct communications did not fall on deaf ears, maybe they didn’t acknowledge the comments/feedback as quickly or in the forum we wanted/needed (FB, here whatever), but there could be many reasons for that. They are continuing to work to improve something they are providing for free. That is, in my opinion, enough and I’m happy to have access to any feed. I sincerely hope they continue to sponsor equine events as I don’t see anyone else standing in the wings to take their place. In my opinion we could show some gratitude beyond empty words (thanks for sponsoring, but your free feed sucks/should be turned off/you shouldn’t do it to me is not gratitude).

But that is just my opinion.

Anyone have a feed for this session yet?
Unfortunately I do not. HOWEVER, I do want to report that when I failed to get connected I got a “crash report” window that said “error 2030” and a place to write a description of what happened and then submit. So far nothing… but it does appear that they are trying to improve things.

I also sent an email to Alltech and received the same response that was reported earlier. But it felt good that at least it was acknowledged.

NEWSFLASH!!!—I’m connected, I’m connected—yippeeeee!! not so hot feed but happy to have!!

I love Arkansas  I saw him show in–and win!–his first ever grand prix last winter.

Thanks!

Anybody notice that the ads do not take up the whole screen so we can see the goings on in the ring now. I like that a lot!!
