ROFR can work both ways. Sold my daughter’s PC eventer to what I thought was a perfect fit, everyone happy first year then girl lost interest , easy keeper mare left in lush pasture developed laminitis which owner did not treat. I offered to take her back for unpaid vet bills and that was considerably less than they had paid for her. Thankfully they agreed, I couldn’t couldn’t bear to watch her hobble around the field any longer. I did manage to get her sound again, but it was touch and go for awhile.

Since by law horses are considered property it is pretty hard to write a contract governing care, FROR, or any other type of control of where the horse ends up or what it is used for. The best you can do is ask questions and ask for references from vet/farrier ect. You do the best you can for your horse, but, once you sell it it is the next persons’ property to do with as they wish. And as in the OP’s case it can be hard to watch from the sidelines.

Only reason that thread was shared, is because when one posts on certain forums, the title is displayed easily on Google. GLP is one that shows up on Google. I have friends on GLP that are completely sane (much more sane then some on here that get off on bullying, hatred and trolling). Ah, and wait till they see the remark made about people on GLP! Any ways, I had no idea who the horse was being sold to at that time, so in a panic I posted all over the net to try to find out where she was going. Any one else would have done the same thing if they cared for the animal especially for a horse with special care needs. I did find out thankfully to my postings on the NET. AND I do have FRIENDS out there that care about what is happening, and they are speaking the truth too!!!

So yes now it is out of my hands and in the hands of the local community as they know what is going on. As my friends say, due to the suffering this persecution and bad treatment I and my family are receiving over this, the snow ball is going down the hill and growing. This is all I am saying about this because there are people out there who care, and can judge between right and wrong. However those who see the wrong do and I can’t stop any of them from speaking as they are not happy at this time either. Yes this will die down, but now the truth is known in the local community who is in the wrong and who is not. I have no more to say on this, and this thread can die.
