When I was there in 2014 EM had sent a pony out on a free lease when someone contacted her and said that her horse looked emaciated and was sitting in a field starving. She got him out of there and he came back to AHF and was getting better day by day. One day they needed two more stalls so they sent Star, the pony who went on a free lease, and another pony to the back field. When star got home he looked like we was on the verge of dying and when he was sent to the back field he still looked horrible but fatter. A week or so later someone went back there to find only one pony so they went back further to look. He then found Star dead and decomposing.
The groom went in and told Elizabeth and she didn’t flinch, she just said to bury him now. He was buried by the grooms and her twins that night and never talked about again. I’ve never seen something more horrible taken care of them this matter. She never alerted his previous owner that he had died. She didn’t care and now I’m hearing or more and more dying in the back field.
May Star rest in piece <3

Huh, just had Elizabeth Mandarin pop up as a potential FB friend… I said H#LL to the NO
Fun hater.
Pony princess, you went to live with Elizabeth when you were twelve or you just rode ponies for her?
The story as told by theponyprincess sounds odd in many ways. Not to mention that it involves a then 11 year old who falls off and goes to a hospital and has multiple scans and procedures without a parent present. It wasn’t until later after alot of screaming that the mother was called (?). Oh and the child is allowed/encouraged to travel by air alone. WTH ?
How does one get “promised to go to Pony Finals 2013 on a small pony” when “the pony arrived 2 weeks before finals” ?
I understand that the pony division is a complete racket, and that ponies are shuttled around, farm to farm, rider to rider, around the country. But the story sounds in many ways as if an adult wrote or edited it. Maybe an upset mom ? Sorry, regardless of EM’s behavior, it’s still a sad commentary on the situations young riders are deliberately put in.

It all started in the summer of 2013. I was 11 years old. My mother had spoken to EM in the past and we had even been to a farm she rented in Ocala that May. I went to EM’s place in GA in about late June. I was promised to go to Pony Finals 2013 on a small pony. The pony arrived 2 weeks before finals and was difficult to ride so she found someone else to ride it. There were a few other girls staying at the farm and I was the youngest. One girl was never very nice to me and her daughter wasn’t either. At the end of finals I flew home back to Florida on good terms.
In about November 2013 Elizabeth asked if I would want to be there full time while doing virtual school. I took a month to consider and of course I chose yes, who wouldn’t want to ride ponies everyday?! I went up to AHF GA in about March and rode everyday. It was just her daughter and I exercising the animals, I did the ponies mainly and she did the horses. The summer went by fast. I was never really good at the whole homeschool thing, I was a big procrastinator. Towards the end or September 2014 we went to Tryon week 3 I believe and I showed one of her clients ponies. The show went well and I was champion. The next weekend I had done the schooling on the Friday and it went great! The next day (Saturday) I was asked to hack one of her medium pony’s. I hacked it and something from outside the ring spooked him and he took off bucking. I fell off and really don’t remember anything until I got to the hospital. I got a ton of scans and slept for about 6 hours while EM was there. She was a bit annoyed that I had fallen asleep? Her daughter was so angry that night since I made her mother miss her derby. She screamed at EM but directing it at me. EM went to bed and I called my mom and told her, she asked if I wanted to come home and I said I wanted to work it out. The next day I get to the show and they are both ignoring me. My mother and Elizabeth then get into a little argument about what had happened. And on the 5 hour drive home I was asleep.
We got home late at like 9 pm and I went up to my room and her daughter screamed down to me to come down to the office. I went down and they were on the phone with my mom and they basically yelled at me saying how could I fall off? Why did I go to the hospital? There wasn’t anything wrong with you your shouldn’t have gone, stuff like that. That pretty much set me over the edge and I told my mom to get me on the next flight out. My flight was for the next day at like 6:30 pm. That whole day I was deathly afraid of leaving my room thinking that if I did I would be yelled at again. The one time I left was when they were both in her office, I went to the bathroom and to grab something quick to eat. EM refused to drive me to an airport making a huge fiasco and finally one of the barn help offered to drive me an hour and a half to the airport. She then sued my mom for the ownership of the 6 partnership ponies which she ended up winning a year and 1/2 later.
If it wasn’t for someone taking me in again to ride I would not be were I am today with my riding. I thank that person so much for making so many good things happen for me
So this all started after the Devon Pony’s Death? I’m so sorry this happened, but out of curiosity, what ever made you go there in the first place?
Back to our regular programming…

It wasn’t until later after alot of screaming that the mother was called (?). Oh and the child is allowed/encouraged to travel by air alone. WTH ?

Wait… so after the hospital thing and the ownership thing your mother allowed you to go back/ you wanted to go back? Why on earth would you ever have any further contact after that experience?
(Assuming this all really went down as said because it does not seem to be written by a 14 yr old)

you don’t think a 14 year old could have written that? It’s not Shakespeare. You either have very low expectations of teens or just aren’t around them much.
That actually could use some follow up. Did we ever find out what happened to Romantic Star?
I want to know this too!
My! The theponyprincess’s posts come and go so rapidly.

So glad someone quoted or I would have missed it :D.
One question, I thought Tryon’s big opening was in 2015. Did they have a string of multi week shows in 2014?

I know! And we didn’t even get to quote the dead pony one.
Thank goodness for quoting or I’d have no use for all this boxed wine at 7am!

What was the gist of the dead pony one?
ETA: To clarify, I know about Humble, just curious what theponyprincess was saying
Anyone remember when she did the Bo Peep contest? The kid that won didn’t last very long…[edit]
Ummmmm…at the end of all the drama the offhand remark about EM suing the Mom over ownership of six “partnership Ponies”-and winning, hints more at motive behind this whoever wrote this.
And children flying as Unaccompanied Minors, whuch us the only way airlines will fly one this age, don’t just get dropped off at airports by stable hands so that’s questionable.
Back of my mind and probably most others is what mother familiar enough with the show scene to get involved in a six Pony partnership would send an 11-12ish child to live with somebody possessing such a recent, highly publicized bad reputation on top of being known for ringside outbursts?

You betcha, my trainer donated time to judge the videos not knowing her that well and thinking EM had softened somewhat and came to regret it, so did the other judges who regretted getting duped into what sounded like a good deed. The very talented young winner and her Mom backed out after a very short time. Hope she is still riding, that was a good kid with good parents.
I wish the OP would come back.
