I find that teens and irrelevant details go hand in hand. I think they spend a lot of time in school teaching them how to tell a story/write papers without all the irrelevant details.
Some people have a very hard time getting to the point even as adults. A clear, pertinent, linear retelling of facts is very hard for some, teen or not.
First, if she was knocked out cold in a riding accident and went to the hospital for scans on a head injury, I don’t believe she would have been allowed to fall asleep by the hospital staff! And she wouldn’t have been cleared to check out the next day and go back to competition. Especially if she was passing out in the car constantly.
Please re-read. She never said she was knocked out cold…just that she couldn’t remember anything until the hospital. I’ve been around many people that were never unconscious but can’t remember what happened. There was no passing out, you are adding that detail.
Falling asleep is a sign of a head injury…but many people do not know that and allow someone to sleep thinking it will help them.
If all the tests came back clean, its highly likely she would be released, most likely with instructions on what to watch for. She says she went to the show the next day, not that she rode. We just don’t have that detail.
But the scenario for the accident and medical treatment absolutely does not make sense, and shows up the whole account as being a fabication.
I disagree. Your incorrect reading of the scenario lends more support to a fabrication. The story as posted, while a bit confusing the way it was written is more believable.
