Amber Hill Ponies
1. I had no clue you were a Mod at one point. Smack me upside the head.
Way back in ye olde dayes, but I got added to the original group a little later and was the first one who moderated under a different name than my username. Because you know, some posters are just not mature enough know how to conduct themselves when their moderator might have an opinion on a topic separate from actually moderating it… <insert rolly eye icon from ye olde dayes>

Isn’t Amber Hill selling riding coats for some vendor from Canada?
You said in your post (that I quoted) that the OP keeps saying there is not time to post more… I am simply saying that the person who keeps saying that is not the OP.
I know nothing else about either of them, other than that they do not have the same screen name.
I was quoting another poster who spoke of Ashley_K… Not the OP

I am not jumping on the bandwagon / witch hunt that some of you think I am formulating… I just think it’s strange that she didn’t check it out. But hey… I’ll just shut up and let you all do the discussing.

You tell us!! And welcome to COTH!!

Would love to tell you but I can’t. I saw Amber Hill selling jackets at some shows in the spring but I don’t know if they still are doing that. Since I remember the company was Canadian and Ashley_K is from Canada, I thought she might know. But Canada is a big place so maybe it is just a coincidence. No harm in asking, right?

Ashley_K hasn’t said she was from Canada.

I didn’t say that she said that. Another poster said that. But thanks for your helpful post. If no one here can answer my question that is fine but what gives with the stupid sniping? It’s like a junior high forum.

Let’s review.

If you want to take that as a fact, it’s all yours.

Sorry. What was your question again ?

Bam! Post #3 and the insults start!

But it’s so true, isn’t it? Every new poster who starts a topic gets labelled a troll if they have the slightest divergence of opinion from the norm or has a ā€œhot topicā€ question. When I was new to the forum, I asked a question and was labelled a troll. I was a teenager and I was scared off. I left for a long time and came back under a new name and agreed with people until I had enough posts to not be labelled a troll when I started a thread. Sounds like the OP is asking for opinions, and the least we can do is link to the threads that have discussed Amber Hill and EM instead of automatically labelling the OP a troll and scaring her off so that she no longer has a resource. The OP sounds young, and is clearly in need of advice. If we don’t help, she may go to EM based on the online advertising she does. Her website is pretty and her ponies seem nice. If I didn’t know who she was I would look into it. I think we owe it to new posters to give advice before calling them a troll. Not everyone lurks for years like I did to know what is and isn’t acceptable in the clique of COTH.

No, you can be a new poster and have a difference of opinion. But when you’re new and you decide to get your feet wet on a highly controversial topic, the fur is going to fly. That’s pretty much any internet forum anywhere… Not specific to COTH.

I didn’t call Halther a troll. Where did that come from? I criticized her because of her reaction to Mardi’s mild comment that we don’t know for sure if Ashley_K is from Canada. Instead of saying, ā€œthanks, I didn’t catch thatā€ Halther responded, ā€œif no one here can answer my question that is fine but what gives with the stupid sniping? It’s like a junior high forum.ā€

What gives with the sniping, indeed?

I am taking it as fact combined with the Facebook pages of the two people mentioned earlier in the thread. The dots aren’t that hard to connect in terms of where Ashley_K is from. My question was whether AH is still selling the riding jackets for a vendor from Canada? Saw them selling at shows earlier this year but haven’t since. Websites are unclear. If you don’t know, feel free not to answer.

Forgive me for replying when I don’t know the answer to your question.

If I may, I 'd like to suggest that you call Amber Hill Farm directly and ask if they’re still selling the jackets from a vendor in Canada. That should give you the information you need.

Wasn’t looking for suggestions. If anyone knows, please reply or PM me. Hand down, Mardi, you aren’t being called on.

Not to worry. If you’re uncomfortable with calling them directly, have a friend do it for you.

Hmmmm. Ashley_K seems to be very grown up.

Her post #102:

"Shortly after my notice, my bills mysteriously increased. Naturally, I started questioning some of the charges which to my surprise were not legitimate, causing my bills to further skyrocket. I started getting threats of liens being put on my horses and EM threatening to sell them.

This situation quickly escalated to a point where I had to seek legal help. I had to go to court to get the amount reduced to the contracted prices for the services agreed upon. Needless to say, all of this has cost me tens of thousands of dollars and unnecessary drama."

Maybe because she is grown up. Adults have mothers too.

Maybe you could post the family tree ? With house guests.
