Amber Hill Ponies

When it comes to this specific trainer, there are court filings and newspaper articles. The information is not particularly hard to find. It’s actually hard to miss

I do agree that USEF hearing transcripts should be published

Why don’t we have like a Yelp for trainers/shows?

Is it weird to anyone else that the OP just keeps coming back and saying that she’ll come back at a later time and update us, but can’t right now because she’s really busy?

The poster, Ashley_K, who keeps coming back and saying they will post the story later when they have more time is not the same screen name as the person who started this thread.

This had occurred to me to.

I have certainly seen people start up business dealings or even friendships with people who have bad local reputations that anyone could tell you about, thinking “she won’t turn on me” or even, perhaps, that it might be useful to have all that rule-bending, short-cuts, dishonesty, angry energy, on your own side helping you win. And then they are amazed when it all falls apart, and they are the target of the craziness and the fraud.

It’s the equivalent of the anxious grade six kid who tries to befriend the “mean girl” or the class bully to raise her own status, joins in teasing others, puts up with a lot of insults to herself, and yet is totally surprised and devastated when the mean girl finally turns on her, too. Which they always do.

In this day and age, I don’t have loads of sympathy for someone (other than a complete newbie) who goes to a previously publicly-exposed trainer without doing a basic background check (or does the check and discounts the warning signs), sticks around ignoring bad behavior as long as her own star is on the rise, and then bursts into tears when the trainer turns on her, which will always happen. If they do it to other people, they will do it to you.
This is exactly what happens. The trainer is “just misunderstood” until they do the same things to you.
The thing is though, is that sometimes clients are with them for years before anything happens. Sometimes nothing happens at all. That is why new clients come.

I just want to say it is amazing to me how many people who are judges/trainers/officials in our sport who are still facebook friends with her and “like” or pass on her posts of sale horses and ponies. Seems to me that after what she did, she’d be getting the cold shoulder. Buyer beware, here, I think.

I believe she is the one who gave names of people on FB that were having issues with EM… It is hard for me to believe that she didn’t know about EM. She said she is from another country, which is believe is Canada… I highly doubt that the Canadian government sensors their internet, so Google is readily available.

Ashley K did know about EM, and is not the OP asking about the enviornment like sh has no idea. Two different people (or so we think???). The OP has not posted since her first inquiry.

The actual, original OP who stared this thread has never come back under that screen name, no doubt watching the results. Perhaps posting as yet another newbie to further their purpose in stirring this up, a technique I don’t care for when there’s plenty of actual, IRL issues that can be honestly brought up for discussion.

Yes, she said she knew of EMs farm and song/dance, but not of her bad business practices. She stated she was from another country and had way of knowing that some of those websites existed. It is hard for me to believe that by living in Canada she is totally cut off.

I have actually been wondering about this the whole time. Is Jumpithigher just an alter started by one of the other commentors so they themselves didn’t have to actually start the thread, but could then chime in without looking like they we attacking in the first place? THere are so many first time posters its hard to keep track!

You said in your post (that I quoted) that the OP keeps saying there is not time to post more… I am simply saying that the person who keeps saying that is not the OP.
I know nothing else about either of them, other than that they do not have the same screen name.

Based on being on COTH for 15 years? Yes. Not that hard to officially create an alter or just register a bogus account from a different e mail (and IP addy if they are smart so they aren’t just another houseguest).

See enough of this, it gets obvious.

Hey, about the only part I miss is reading the whole undeleted train wreck off in the privacy of that forum (oh the things people post and then regret posting). Now dealing with the train wreck? Do not miss that at all!

I gotta say… so what?

I mean she certainly paid a high enough price for not doing her due diligence and I’m sure she’s a lot wiser today. But there’s a whiff of a witch hunt starting up here, “What do you mean you didn’t check all this out beforehand?” Almost as if it somehow detracts from her credibility…

I’m just not getting the mentality behind that approach. Someone made an error in judgment. Someone paid dearly for that error. Someone then comes on a public forum and says, “hey, don’t be me. This is why.

I’m not seeing where the response is to beat them about the head and neck with their lack of judgment. I’m inclined to think one week at AHF was punishment enough.

I will tell you there are more details to my story. I will be posting it when I have the adequate time to sit down and properly formulate a longer post. I saw and experienced more than most of you have heard from before: staff, business dealings, horses, and dogs.

I want everyone to know that this was an extremely difficult time for my horses and myself. I had to endure many months of not knowing what was happening with my horses. During this time I was also barred from getting any information about my new foal and mare at UGA, again thanks to EM’s games.

In case you’re wondering why I’m posting all this, I would like to highlight the fact that I have no interest in gossip. I felt this specific thread would be the best avenue to warn others who may not be aware of EM.

I was not aware of these internet sites and places to find out helpful information. I live in another country and the advertisement and charm given off by EM made her seem that she had a facility as lovely as she portrays.

I know some of you are jaded when it comes to EM. I wanted to share this with all of you and let people know that there is a larger group actively working on shedding light on the true AHF and EM.
How to keep a reader in suspense…

This coy manipulation annoys me.

 1. I had no clue you were a Mod at one point. Smack me upside the head.

 2. I agree. While I understand the sentiment behind the ‘she should have performed a search’ group, I just don’t think that is what happens and getting all self-righteous about it doesn’t help. Even if you find information who is to say that it’s from reliable sources? Some horse trainers may be whack jobs, but so are some clients…and they outnumber the trainers.

Yes…if I happened to google a trainer and came up with a thread about Humble, I would run away…but that’s a really big IF.

Any chance the Mods are bored and want to compare IP addresses? Not that it would prove or disprove anything definitively but still…

Ahh, you’re right. My mistake. But still weird.
