me likes Riverman, see quite a few of his babies eventing, and Gervantus II’s seem to be quite level headed. If you’re interested in Ramiro B, which puts some rideability to the hotter mares, sending me a PM as we’ve been discussing a tank to the West Coast from Harthill Stud. It’s also possible to get Ricardo Z shipped and his foals are quite reasonable/level headed.
What about Amorex? He’s a really nice stud and has some really successful offspring. His breeder is retiring and having a dispersal sale on her frozen semen stock and it’s a fabulous deal at $150 per dose with an 85% conception rate on the first dose. Foal would be eligible for full SWANA papers out of a TB mare.
This same breeder also has frozen from Silvano N which might not be a bad cross either.

I would absolutely consider a race stallion, and am looking at a local stallion named Ambassador. But with only 5 foals on the ground, and the oldest being a 2yr old, jury is still out on their temperaments.

I do like the looks of Dance With Ravens, quite a bit. Only issue would be having to transport to MD and board the mare there for breeding.
Thanks! I love the Dance with Ravens suggestion
Johanna
Ambassador is gorgeous! Also seems similar in type to your mare, I bet you would get a carbon copy of the mare.
Lovely mare! She reminds me a lot of a mare I had very briefly a couple years ago.
Just saw a Dance With Ravens filly recently, she was a bit more of a nervous type (but still in race training) but boy did she look the part.
There’s a French stallion, Krisproll One, who could be a great event-horse sire…he’s ammy friendly & a hunter But the boy has a superlative pedigree & great type for a rangy mare. Not to mention, and I know generalizing isn’t ever great - but - I have always thought French horses provided a nice ride (being a fan of a more TB-type ride myself).
Pedigree - note 60% TB - 11% Arab -

Out of the box suggestions… Lotus T (AHHA out of a TB dam). His babies are quiet and they can JUMP!
Also a full TB stallion named Corporate Report- has produced a few OTTBs turned eventer (at FEI levels) and really nive pedigree for sport.
I have a gelding out of a TB mare, this is the stallion: http://www.clevelandbay.org/images/stories/stallion-cards/idlehouryorktown.pdf
he is super fancy, looks like a WB, great jump and very ammie friendly. I cant say enough nice things about this stallion crossed with a TB mare.
Thanks to those who mentioned Sea Accounts.
He returned to eventing last fall after 4 years of not jumping at all (just my circumstances) and competing up to 4th level test 2, he is now competing at Intermediate! He did four prelims and his lowest finish was 4th with two wins!
As for temperament, I really don’t think his temperament can be beat. In fact, I would encourage you to call Mike Huber (I can give you his number) and ask his thoughts on the horse as he has ridden many, many stallions over years to get their performance requirements.
Cyriz’s oldest competing kids are only 8. There are two. One qualified for a CCI* in four outings last year and the other moved from the hunters to jumpers last year and is many top 3 finishes up to 1.20.
I encourage you to check out his facebook page at www.facebook.com/SeaAccounts.
BTW, your mare is lovely and reminds a bit of Cyriz’s dam, Dance Account!
Your mare is lovely!
I 100% think Gatsby would improve the areas she needs a little help in, which is her overall topline. He’d put a stronger loin on, he’d fix her neck to a nice degree (she’s a bit thick at the base), probably put a bit more angle in her hind legs. He would not add any bone to her - she’s already pretty much like him. He won’t lighten her up though, if that’s what you wanted
Wow! Lots of great suggestions! I thought I’d add confo shots of her kids, all full TB, but by different stallions.

The dam absolutely stamps their heads, mostly in the mare and colt, and puts quite a bit of bone on them. The colt is the most refined, although interestingly by the least refined stallion.
The first mare is just at 17hh, by a stallion who was only 16.1. She’s just huge all over! The gelding should mature 16.1 or 16.2, and was by a stallion who was just barely 16.0hh. The colt is still not super big, maybe mature 16.0hh, and is by a 16.3hh stallion.
Thanks everyone!
I really like the idea of Sea Accounts, as well as Gatsby. I am concerned with a few of the other suggestions adding too much size/bone and getting a very heavy foal. I really don’t want less than 75% blood if I can help it, don’t want to lose the gallop, and the TB blood I love so much.
Oh what I would give for a Perfect Soul baby! I have a five year old and he is just da bomb:
http://www.darbydan.com/horses/perfect-soul.html#overview
Who knows, you might get a race baby and a good event horse. The one I have is super sound after a two year career.
Nancy
Pretty good cross, NMK, sadler’s wells on a secretariat mare!
I will vouch for the excellent temperament for Icarus de Carolina as well as the excellent temperament of a Gatsby offspring. Last summer, Icarus de Carolina was living in a barn with my horses (mares and geldings), and he has superlative manners. There was also a Gatsby offspring there who was as nice a youngster as you could hope for. (Both Ike and the Gatsby offspring were smaller horses, in the 15.2hh range, but could carry a good size rider.)
From the UK and available through EMCO, Catherston Springsteen is a cheerful, friendly stallion who produces nice youngsters who can move and jump. I’ve met him in person and he has a fantastic temperament, although it should be said that, like with all Catherston stallions, you are probably going to get a lot of horse in terms of athleticism. (I own some semen from him as I plan to breed a mare to him eventually.)
Weston Justice (also through EMCO) also has a reputation for ammy-friendly youngsters. He’s very close to full TB, IIRC there’s an unknown or bit of Arab way back. I have seen him, he’s an attractive horse. Haven’t seen any offspring, however.
I’d throw Default in Virginia into the conversation. He’s older, creaky from injuries, but lovely. His owner is a repro vet who stands stallions for foxhunting as well as competition. A COTHer has a new foal by Default. I’ve heard that he showed as a hunter after his racing career, and that says a lot about a stallion’s temperament. Whether what I heard is true or not could be verified by talking to the stallion owner. www.littlehawkfarm.com
Ambassador is certainly lovely and might give you the German TB durability that is so prized, as well as a Dark Ronald sireline.

What about Jaguar Mail? He has a number of offspring that appear to be doing quite well in eventing.
FWIW, my Ironman baby, out of a TB mare, is nearly 3/4 TB blood and to be honest, I think his canter is his best gait (which is saying something on a coming 3yo). He’s not heavy at all - THIS photo was taken yesterday, he’s still got some growing to do (late bloomer!) and stands about 15.2 right now.
Johanna have you looked at Just a Devil? He is a full TB. His first foal born, Lucky Devil, is being ridden by Lauren Kieffer and is currently doing Intermediate. Lucky Devil is still young, 8 years, and learning. We are hoping to move him up to Advanced in the next few months. I also just sold another gelding by Just a Devil, who was his second foal to hit the ground, as an upper level prospect. Just a Devil is throwing very rideable, athletic, and intelligent individuals. When crossed with a “hot” mare, he has produced very rideable and sane.
Lucky Devil and Lauren Kieffer at The Fork CIC**, finished 4th on their dressage score

Arty throws amazingly friendly and easy babies. Katie Ruppel bred one of her mares to him and just had a lovely chestnut colt
There are many others as well, including one I just got!

Can’t say enough good things about this stallion. I’ve ridden him as well, he is just amazing and improves every mare I’ve seen him paired with.
Totally agree. We’re breeding two mares to him this year.

Could Salute the Truth or Triple Twist be suitable?
I have a yearling filly by Salute the Truth out of a hot and sensitive Conn x TB mare. Said filly is extremely sociable, quiet and easy to work with. And gorgeous to boot. She’s on my website under 2012 Youngstock.
There is only frozen available on Triple Twist, but he is definitely ammie friendly. I’m quite certain his foals are just as kind. I’m sure his owner would be happy to tell you more.
