And Coreene contemplates showing. Western.

Mypaintwattie just pointed out that she was most probably going to a 9/11 Memorial Fundraiser Show iwith her beautiful mare Sierra. And she pointed out that, lo and behold, there was a Jack Benny Country Pleasure Class, and I already own a pimped out show saddle, bla bla bla, and now I find myself looking for a western rail shirt. ENABLER, ENABLER!!!

You enable me, I enable you. Please find a sparkly western rail shirt and give it a shot!

I just found one! On eBay, no less. I will do the Buy It Now tomorrow. Ya know, I bought a pimped out show saddle last year for a WB, but it was just for fun. I never, ever thought it would actually go to a show!

Well if I’m already going to drag you down there to take pictures, I might as well throw you up in the saddle too!!!:lol::lol:

Did I hear Enabler?

I though I heard my name…
Coreene;
of course you should cross to the Blingy Side & Just Show It

I have it on Good Authority that WP saddles actually disintegrate! if not shown within 2 years of purchase.
And besides that: the WP Princesses need to see the spin a real DQ can put on their sport

Go forth, thou and don the sequinage!

And don’t forget pics will be required here.

do it do it do it!!! thankfully, the last Western class i did was at a Ranch Versatility show. no sequins allowed. gasp! lol

LOL!!! And to think there was a time when I would HOWL with laughter at the Jack Benny classes. But 2Dogs, good reminder about the Saddle Self Destruction - I’ve had it just over a year now and would not want it to assplode. So Wattie will surely win all her classes and I will hope to at least not make a fool of myself, but much fun awaits and it is for a super cause.

Don’t forget your Stetson.

Don’t think about it, just do it! You two will knock their socks off. Willem will be so proud of you!

Can’t wait for photos!

At the very least we need a link to the shirt on ebay…go for it!

Is it possible to have tasteful bling? Because I haven’t seen any Western show attire that strikes me as tasteful. Aunt Esther would be shocked if Coreene shows in anything that offends the sensibilities.

I agree that a link to this show shirt would be helpful in deciding if Coreene should cross over. Not that my decision would have any effect, anyway.

 My mind’s eye has been blinded! Do you get do be-dazzle Oliver’s tail? Would that be a ta-dazzle??

I think you could rock it !
get the proper stuff so you are not “so last year”
in other words do not get what the
Paint people are wearing !! Go straight
up Congress or World Show AQHA for your fashion cues

Just make sure that there is someone around to take plenty of pictures! Come to think of it, we haven’t seen an Oliver picture in years, so we’re past due, anyways.

Oooooo - Western attire is fabulous. Can’t wait to see pictures!

As an aside, I wonder how many COTH posters know who Jack Benny was.

Oh have fun! I love all the sparkle and shine to WP. I cannot wait until it cools off enough to safely get back to riding my future WP horse… I love sparkles.

Actually, I still don’t have any bling on anything…and I started showing western in the mid-60s. The Big Thing back then was buckstitching, indeed I still have my buckstitched ‘show halter’ somewhere in a trunk in the garage.

I don’t hardly show much any more, but when I showed at the Utah State Fair (haven’t done so since early in the 21st century), I just put on my plain western shirt and jeans, the 60s buckstitched chaps, and the plain old western saddle. And sunglasses to protect against the glare from other competitors’ blink.

I managed to do okay as a plain Jane.

I DO have a sparkly western shirt, but it’s for partying! I wouldn’t want horse drool on the rhinestones!

Oliver is not going to this show

He is too big for the trailer that Wattie uses - I will be riding Wattie’s champion mare Sierra, who is Oliver’s next door neighbor and girlfriend. We swapped horses one day last week and, as expected, Sierra was a jewel and Oliver completely ignored me until the End Of Ride Sugar Cube.

I know who Jack Benny was (and he’s STILL only 39!) but I admit to being stumped by what a Jack Benny Class is!

And oh, I was in the tack trailer at the fair (hooray for horse-specialty stores because I love TSC but their selection sometimes bites) and I even said to the clerk, “I have got to start doing Western so I can wear the PRETTY clothes.” Just get me my E6000 and my wax-tip needle and the flatback Preciosa (Swarovski’s a bit pricey when it’s going to fall off in the dirt) and I am good to go!

hey, Anky did it!
