Had a woman out to do some reiki/body work on my horse and she’s also an animal communicator. Anyone believe in that sort of thing?
i did it for my horses. it’s fun. some of the stuff was hilarious. my sweet steady guy told her the young horse was annoying and never shut up and he didn’t want to ride next to him on the way home from Florida But he just described a horse that had a blaze and was bay, had ADD and talked a lot. I figured out it was the young one from that. very entertaining.
My guy said he was born to be pampered and is very fancy
He also told her I lean to the left which is good to know.
It was definitely fun hearing what he said. I also need to start buying more carrots!
Mine told the communicator that something that was happening “every month” was really annoying her and making her uncomfortable and that if I would just stop doing that thing, the problem we were there to talk about would go away.
So I stopped giving her Depo shots every 28 days and, yeah, it went away.
I believe hiring these people can make your wallet lighter and/or credit card bill heavier!!!

ACs fall under “comedic value” for me as a professional, but, sometimes since they are left in the dark in some cases, they can catch or see things that people used to the horse don’t see. So for that, they can have their place… but I don’t necessarily believe there is a two-way discussion going on between AC and horse/animal. More like, maybe the AC is very intuitive to expressions of the horse, and also has learned to read people accordingly.
So tell us, what did the AC say?
IF animal communicators do achieve a connection with the horse, a good enough connection for complicated concepts, I most certainly do not have it.
But over the past decade I’ve been riding other people’s horses, lesson horses, and sometimes when I wonder how a particular discomfort the horse has came about I sometimes get rather short “video clips” in my mind.
For instance I wondered why the BOT poll caps &/or the Fenwick face mask with ears seems to help these horses, I got the above mentioned short video clip of a horse slamming back when tied with a halter, and with the Fenwick eared face mask I got a brief video clip of the horse being “eared”. I got the impression that these horses had a perpetual “headache” from slamming back when tied, and with the eared horses I got the impression that their ears still hurt some.
One horse had something wrong with his back behind the saddle. When I wondered about it I got a brief video clip of the horse jumping into water and his hind legs slipping off to the side, wrenching his back. (I already knew the horse had been evented.)
So maybe there are people who pick up a whole lot more than I do. I don’t know. I’ve never used an animal communicator, mostly because riding horses takes up the majority of the money I can spend for luxuries, like tack and riding horses at all.
Thats what I thought but she said one thing that is unlikely she could have guessed. My horse said:
He was born to be pampered
He likes when people stop when they are driving by and look at him (thats the one that surprised me. I have my horse at home and people often will stop and watch him in the paddock or while I’m riding. Even take pictures which kinda creeps me out when I’m riding)
He’s very fancy
He tries the best he can and that he doesn’t hate his job or life
He likes carrots
He likes jumping but not crazy jumping
That I sit more to the left
He likes that I sit in the middle and not too forward or backward (another one that made me think because that is exactly how I ride)
He’s very happy and appreciative
He likes the dogs and considers them part of his herd but that he’s in charge
He talks to me all the time and that I’m pretty receptive to listening and understanding what he needs and wants
I paid for the bodywork not the communication but it was interesting to hear what he told her. Again not sure if its a real thing or not but I like to believe it was
Thats really interesting she described it in a similar way but described it more as seeing an image in her mind. As she worked on him she would tell me what he was saying
It is also called the gift of gab.
You throw out there a bunch of thoughts and the listener works hard to make them fit what they know or want.
Some do stick and those is what people remember.
I had an aunt that was a fortune teller and card reader.
She made a good living at that, she was good.
When asked if any of that was real, her response was always, some times I surprise myself.
—"Mine told the communicator that something that was happening “every month” … "—
Does anyone really believe horses know what a month is?
About words, sometimes my riding teacher tells me about her reasons for working a horse a certain way or her plans for the horse.
OCCASIONALLY I get a “message” from the horse of “tell Debbie that…” with a comment or opinion. This is not common at all for me and not every horse does it.
My riding teacher is used to this by now since I’ve ridden with her for over a decade.
Most of the time I just read what the horse’s body is saying. By now I consider the action of every muscle as a word in a paragraph. So long as I keep my mind open and approach the horse with the attitude that the horse is entitled to his opinion I can often figure out their “sign language.” Some horses are very eloquent if one just listens to them. No New Age mumbo jumbo needed, every moment the horse is communicating with his whole body.
After trying multiple things for my Doberman, I consulted an animal communicator. I am very skeptical about them in general, so please keep this in mind.
I have a hedgehog who is rarely, if ever mentioned, on my social media. This communicator sent me a message on Facebook while we were setting up an appointment and told me she had a message for me from an animal with a mask. She asked first if I had a pet raccoon, to which I said no. Then she said, “He’s showing me his hands. Does he have paws he uses like hands?”
I replied, “No, not really…”
“He says he likes his name. Dart. And that he likes you because you’re quiet and you don’t bother him a lot. He’s showing me his little face again… he has a dark face, but he’s not a raccoon… is he a hedgie?”
“He is.”
“He says you’re very nice to him and he likes you, and he appreciates that you’re not loud and scary. He’s very proud of his hands though… he says he likes when you pet his nose, but not when you hold his hands to clip his nails. He would rather smell your hair.”
I never told her any of that, it’s not common knowledge. So she won my trust a bit and I agreed to let her meet my dog, Atlas.
I muzzled him because he can get aggressive with fear. As soon as she came in, she blurted out, “I’m sorry! I know you told me to sit. I’m going to sit right now!” as he was barking from outside. As soon as she sat down at the table, he stopped barking.
I let him in and she immediately got teary-eyed as she looked at me and said, “this dog loves you beyond words and he’s scared for you. He needs to protect you from the bad people. He says a bad person hurt you once and that he feels bad because he didn’t protect you.” Then she laughed and said, “He’s saying you had poor judgement with this person because he was pretty.”
(I always used to tell this person, “it’s a good thing you’re pretty”)
As she was sitting, Atlas was watching her and and I talk. Every time I’d get upset, Atlas would glare at her and multiple times, she said, “Buddy, I’m not hurting her, I promise. It’s okay.” Then she’d say to me, “This dog would absolutely die for you. He doesn’t like to be this way and he knows it makes you nervous and anxious, but he can’t help it. He’s so anxious for you.”
The short story is - my ex was very mentally and emotionally abusive and it was very difficult on me. Before I met him, my dog was extremely happy, social and loved everyone. He was okay with my ex until the abuse started and then things started changing. It’s been 5 years now, countless behaviourists, trainers and vet checks with no signs of illness or any improvement on his behaviour. The animal communicator was a last resort.
She sat with us for over 2 hours, just kind of staring off into space, talking randomly and telling me things that I’d never told her about Atlas. She told me that he didn’t think he could ever be trusted without a muzzle because sometimes, “he can’t control himself” and “even though he knows it’s wrong, he can’t help it”. He told her that people make him intimidated and when they look at him, he thinks it’s a challenge. But he also doesn’t want to be locked away because that makes him more nervous since he can’t see me and protect me. He carries a lot of guilt for not being able to protect me from my ex and from what the communicator told me, now he worries that anyone coming through that door is a threat.
He also told her that my fiancé is “a fun couch”… he sits on my fiancé a lot and adores him, but sees him as a fun play mate. He loves me and wants to always be with me, but he also wants me to be stronger and more assertive with him. The communicator told me that I need to work on being more confident too, since the abuse really destroyed that. I need to speak up for myself and show both of us (Atlas and I) that I can take care of myself, so he doesn’t feel the constant need to always defend me. So my homework is to be assertive - if Atlas goes toward a person, I’m supposed to stand in front and back him up. For every step he takes forward, he goes back two.
According to the communicator, Atlas’ “rules” are:
- Strangers to the house should not look at him because that is an immediate challenge issued
- Any guests in the house should be sitting, because people standing are an opportunity for danger
- Strangers should not pet his head and definitely not his ears since that is where the “bad man” used to hit him. No touching at all is preferable, but he’ll “accept” if they want to scratch his back.
- When people are over, he would be most comfortable in eyesight of me, with his muzzle.
- He needs a “safe zone” - arm length away or an easy escape. If he feels cornered, he will go forward and could hurt someone. If he has an escape zone, he will go that way to avoid confrontation.
Since meeting with the communicator, we’ve put these rules into place and they’re proving more helpful than any input any trainer has ever given. Atlas is a highly trained, very sensitive dog, but he is so anxious due to past abuse that he can’t relax around people. My fiancé thinks I’m insane, but he can’t argue the results so far. We’ve got to the point where people can come in the house, take a seat and ignore Atlas while he does the customary sniff, before I tell him to lay down on his bed. He’s still watchful, but he’ll actually lay down and relax a bit. Things still get a bit hairy when guests walk to the bathroom or make a sudden movement, but for the most part… Atlas is doing better.
Every so often, the communicator will message me and ask about something specific. One day, she said, “Atlas likes being your best bud”. I call Atlas my best bud when I’m leaving for work. Or another day, she said, “As much as he appreciated the treat you gave him last night, he didn’t feel well afterward and wouldn’t like that treat again”. I’m not sure how she knew my dog got sick from a new treat he had, but weird.
And funny story. I adopted my other dog from Mexico and when the communicator showed up, she was like, “You have another dog, a chihuahua. Where is she?” As Atlas was sitting in the corner and Sonya was at her feet. I said, “No, just the two dogs.”
“That’s strange, because one of your dogs said she was a chihuahua.”
And then she burst out laughing as Sonya turned around and glared at her, “Oh! I’m sorry. I misunderstood, You’re not a chihuahua! You just lived with them!”
(Sonya came from Cancun and when they picked her up, she was running with a pack of chihuahua street dogs).
@StarPattern thats an incredible story! I think the problem with animal communicators and psychics is there are too many fakes that give them a bad rap. But I do believe there are real ones out there. Looks like you found one! Thats so awesome
EVERY person who successfully works with ANY animal is an “animal communicator.” Some are very sensitive, observant, and facile, some are pretty much stone deaf in every sense of the word. The first group seem to have magic abilities; the second group do not. What NONE are doing is using any sort of “extra sensory perception.” That is complete hogwash.
If you want to see examples of people showing “magic” abilities then watch “Penn and Teller: Fool Us.” Google it or look up some of the things you can find on utube. These guy, and the numerous acts they have on stage, do things that seem otherworldly but are, in fact, based upon trickery and misdirection. They are most assuredly not relying on “other worldly powers.”

I think it is more likely that the AC is reading your thoughts, rather than the animal’s.
I am no communicator but I did used to have a thing about shoes. Call it a good ear or eye but I would get a feeling and sure enough there would be a shoe off. It’s likely communicators are reading us though.
Reiki and animal communicators? Nope. Now.,.,have animal communicator come out. Don’t tell them what horse, after all, your horse knows you, doesn’t it? Go into house or in any event away from communicator so you can give NO feedback. Tell them “Let me know what the horse says.” (If you are there, you WILL react to the animal communicator’s guesses, not to mention they can look you up beforehand on facebook, etc. It’s called cold reading and hot reading (if they research you.) Now, I think some are sincere but deluded, and others are simpy above average at interpreting animals’ body language, but others…it’s a scam. Unfortunately, the JREF prize no longer exists, but it was offered for many years for anyone who could prove psychic powers, dowsing, perpetual motion, etc. The tests had to be approved by both JREF and the claimant, so the claimant couldn’t say it was “rigged” or the like. NO ONE EVER WON THE PRIZE ($1 million),
I don’t believe in any of the animal communicator I’ve come across.
That said, I’ve had some interesting moments when my guard is down when out of left field I’ve been flooded by the emotion a horse in my vicinity is feeling. Negative feelings, and not my horse.
I’ve had similar things happen very rarely once with a haunted house I lived in, once with an old battlefield site. I don’t go looking for this stuff and i don’t always recognize it when it’s happening.
But I think it would be hard to impossible to call these responses up on cue.
I’ve used ACs for many years on my different animals. Almost all consults were over the phone; the only info she has is name, breed, age, description and location.
While waiting for the hauler to remove my horse’s body after euthanizing him two weeks ago, I called the AC I consult with and she immediately made an appt. for me a few hours later. Of course she said he’s fine now, and I did the right thing and he was relieved (he had EPM). Said it was very scary for him to be down and unable to get up when outside (we found him that way at least twice). Described a “grumpy chestnut” that my horse annoyed by telling him how “handsome I am, and my mom comes and grooms me and fusses over me and yours doesn’t”. That was his t/o buddy, and this was true. And I always told him he was the most loved and shiniest horse in the barn.
When an animal passes, another one will come a few days beforehand and tell them all that will happen, and then come for them when the time comes. She said a gray Arabian with a pink nose visited him; that was my previous horse to a T.
Many other past sessions revealed much more exact things, but at that moment I really needed to hear what she told me. I didn’t expect to put him down that morning. I know it was the right thing to do, but needed to hear that he was OK with it and wasn’t scared. He went very peacefully and although my heart is broken, I’m looking forward to moving on with a different horse knowing that he may come back to me in another body (how cool would that be!) In fact, she recently wrote a book about the many stories of this happening over the years with her clients.
our golden retriever talks to horses, at least that is what she has told me
