A BOnus Bo update! How lucky are we?
Awesome!
So upper molars (or lack thereof) say old; upper incisors look younger adult; lower teeth look old; graying face says aged but movement says not so ancient??
Look at that back end! That’s a big-moving Bo you’ve got there!
You’ve done such a great job in such a short time!
He looks like he’ll be an absolute gem!
Yep, he’s a conundrum
I swear I really am going to get him in to see the dentist/vet again, trailer repairs will hopefully be completed this weekend. But honestly, I think there is always going to be some question over his age. We’ve all known of those horses whose teeth did not match up with their actual verified age, perhaps he is one of them.
If he truly is well over 20, he is remarkably sound and clean legged, and bouncing back from this experience well and quickly.
@Renn_aissance you should see his canter. Plenty of loft!
I think you just found his show name- Bonus
He is looking really nice. His movement make me think he is ranch-bred. If all goes well, you may have a nice dressage pony!
Go Bo. He looks great. He looks happy that he can actually move.

Someone was up to no good this afternoon… I went to feed dinner and found him contained only by the third (not hot) rope strand, the one by his knees.
And lest we think he innocently broke the first, second, and fourth by some angelic accident - I have highlighted the gate handles, which are still intact and very securely attached to their ropes, thrown on the ground.
I moved the solar charger to the ponies’ pastures and haven’t bought a second for this pasture yet. Guess I’ll be doing that tomorrow
My horse has figured out how to unhook the fence without getting shocked. Bo is probably very smart!
He looks lovely!
Well damn! Bo is a VERY NICE mover indeed! He’s looking fabulous!
I would too if I lost 20 lbs of gravel from my gut!
@Heinz_57 It wasn’t Bo…it was the horse behind him. Clearly.
I have a friend with a sorrel QH whose blaze has always been roaned out, she’s had him since he was 7 and it’s always been a roany face and the rest of him is just red. Maybe Bo has that same blurry sort of marking. He sure looks good on the line, I bet he’s a powerhouse when he gets all his condition back!
Naughty behavior is a great sign that he’s feeling better!
Just keep repeating that over and over!
Already telling myself that every time he tries to bite me for putting a blanket on him I tell him when he’s fat he can go naked if he wants, but until then we can’t have him getting chilled by the wind and rain. He doesn’t care, blankets make him angry.
It wasn’t him. He wasn’t there. A big horse did it and ran away.
I don’t want these blankets or this fence Mom He won the lottery with you!
