OK - I love a leggy horse, but don’t always see the conformation faults - I really think this guy is lovely:
I’ve not always heard good things about Storm Cat though…

I have a gelding by Pure Prize who is phenomenal (His name is Pure Possession). Very tall (17.1h), substantial bone, more of an old style thoroughbred. “Milo” is sensitive and athletic, definitely not an easy, amateur-friendly type, but now that we have him figured out, he is turning out to be a serious upper-level prospect. He is LOVING his life as an eventer like he was born to do it-he has the aptitude to be strong in all 3 phases, which is so exciting and RARE. He also has very high exercise requirements As in, he needs to be ridden 7 days a week to be happy (this is in addition to overnight turnout).
This CANTER guy has the same walk as Milo- they are so fluid, ground covering, and cat-like.
I have no idea how similar this horse is to my guy, so take my comments with a grain of salt! I haven’t seen many others out there by Pure Prize and am definitely interested in finding more–I don’t want to take one out from under you, but keep us posted on whether you call on him. If you don’t, I think I might!
A bit of the look of eagles, there.
I was a little lukewarm about him based on the pictures. But then I watched the video. I REALLY like his walk and his presence. He’s definitely worth a look!
I wouldn’t worry about the storm cat heritage if he is as good to handle as he looks and as they describe. I would worry about those long front pasterns holding up to excessive jumping.
On second look they aren’t too horribly long but the small flat front feet with thin patterns attached just looks weak overall.
ravenclaw - I felt the same way. I love leggy horses, his pictures didn’t give me the warm fuzzy, but I liked the description, then I watched his video and loved his walk and expression. But I really don’t want another 17h horse!
spyglass - i’m not in a position to inquire on him today, I actually sent him to a friend. So call the trainer if you want:-) And let me know what happens.
Gypsy, that’s what my eyes went to as well. I have a very big guy with bad high low heels and I don’t think I would o there again with out consulting my farrier first. Idk how much of his feet/pastern angles are fixable, or if it will be a constant battle
Is he a bit bench kneed? I can’t tell for sure. Very pretty though.
sexy walk on that one…should have a lovely canter too.
i want him!!!
Me to so we know what that means. Road Trip!!!
I keep looking at him too, but also don’t need another 17+hh OTTB either (have to sell the one I have first!). Please keep us all posted!
Sweet jesus!!! I wish I was rich, I’d buy him just for his looks.
Already sold:(
Wow he went quick!
Did you get him JBRP?
Rats. My trainer had her eye on him and I was hoping to go snag him when I went to Kentucky next week! :sigh:
Bet a steeplechaser bagged him.
No…I am headed to Penn for another who, looked just like him and got called…someone called trainer in AM …they said I was coming up for, horse…they wired $500. Over ask to nail the deal…it’s OK found another still going on as planned…:)…
Wonder who got him… DH needs a youngster (not that it’s in the cards financially, but it’s always nice to dream) and this guy would have given hubby a run for his money in the legs dept! (DH is a 6’3 beanpole and needs a taller ride).
